Alabama vs Clemson

Recommended Posts

I'll take Bama. I am not a fan of them but I cant see anyone beating them. They don't even need much Offense, they score with their Defense. Clemson lost to them last season as well, I don't see it changing.

I thought Alabama would win it before the playoffs started, so I will stick with them.  However, their offense has to play a lot better than it did against Washington for Alabama to win, IMO.

Washington did have a pretty good defense, but I agree. I doubt they'll play like that 2 games in a row.

Just read that Kiffin will not be coaching in the National championship game.  I wonder if that very conservative game plan he had against Washington has anything to do with this?

I'm taking Clemson to win by a TD. I think Clemson's OL can sustain against Alabama's defensive front and allow Watson to take advantage of Alabama's secondary. I also believe Bama is going to struggle to score. Clemson has the secondary to match up with Bama's wide receivers and allow their defensive front to focus on the running game and Jalen. Clemson 24-17.

Man,  I hate Alabama

Clemson was talking all of this smack on how they were going to get revenge and they absolutely have stunk up the joint. Bama dominates the game without even having a QB that can pass haha. Only team I have ever seen like them are the Nebraska teams of 94 and 95 but even Tommie Frazier could pass.

How did Clemson shutout Ohio State...??

Ohio St has a QB just as bad but they don't have the O.Line and run game Bama has. Bama can run it like the old Nebraska teams.

These two teams are much better than OSU.  They lost a bunch of players before this season.    They really over achieved getting as far as they did

I was hoping for a much better game tonight.  Still hoping Clemson turns it around.

I wouldn't say overrated.  Just not as good as the last couple of years.   They will be back.   Lots of under classmen played for them this year

I wonder how many students wear Alabama stuff on campus or is it mandatory to wear that stuff everywhere in Alabama?!!

OSU played about as badly offensively as they possibly could with a good portion of that being on the play-caller's whom got released or resigned after the Clemson game. OSU overachieved on a lot this season, but as Jvan pointed out, they were one of the youngest teams in CFB. With the class that's coming in and the guys that are returning, they'll be a top team again next year.

Game over. It was over after Clemson went down 14-0.

You don't beat Alabama when you constantly mess around and turn the ball over.

Hang your head in shame Clemson. Just like that Giants...One whole week of running their mouths and all this big talk only to screw it all up.

Clemson isn't out of it.  Down by ten, plenty of game left.

Its a 3 point game. Lets not hand Bama the trophy quite yet.

68 Yard TD by Bama, game over.

Theres still plenty of time left, but Clemson has to get a TD here. Field goals aren't going to beat Alabama.

We will see. You have more faith in them than me. Bama never blows leads of 10 or more in the 4th Qtr. Clemson is getting ready to score but they need 7 I agree.

    • Someone to look out for is Mychael Kendricks from PHI. He's under contract with PHI, but they are over the cap, especialy with the Jeffrey extension. Seems like a possible cap casualty. But I might be willing to throw a 7th round pick to PHI for him just to not have to bid against other teams...and because his base salary isn't that crazy the next couple of seasons. He seems like a great fit at WILL.   Nigel Bradham is the better option from PHI and he actually is a FA. But I think PHI will do what they need to keep him as they are competing for the Super Bowl for the next couple of seasons. And I think Simon can play the SAM.   I am interested in Christian Jones. I really liked him before the 2014 NFL Draft and then he went undrafted because of a failed drug test. That seems to be past him...and I think he's a better fit with Colts defense now than he was a few years ago. Not sure if CHI will let him get away.   Gerald Hodges could be worth a flyer as well as depth. I would invite Arthur Brown to camp as well.   The draft has a lot of good options as well. 4-3 LBs (outside of elite MLBs) tend to be undervalued, so there should be a handful of athletic LBs available in the middle rounds that the Colts could look at...and I expect we will see Ballard grab at least one...maybe someone like Josey Jewelll...another former Iowa Hawkeye to pair with Hitchens (teams like to do that kind of stuff).   I think Ballard will be able to get Hitchens to be the leader of the defense...and then pick up another LB in FA or via trade...and then draft 1-2 to develop.
    • Let me clarify. I don't think he's a average or a bad receiver. I think he's pretty darn good. I don't think he'd be easily replaced either. That's where I don't agree with Big Joe and Grady. Where I do agree with them is that he does get taken away in a game too often. Now some of that is due to what you said above about being the only true weapon at WR. Especially when Moncrief couldn't catch a dang thing. That said, he's too inconsistent for me to consider him to be a great/elite receiver. In my opinion, those two words are the same. So I think we actually are in agreement that he's a dang good receiver, definitely top 5. But he's not an elite receiver like Reggie Wayne or Marvin either and we shouldn't expect him to be
    • I think it's going to be really hard to get Norwell here.  I think he was ranked the 6th best overall offensive lineman in 2017 by PFF, and according to them didn't allow a sack or pressure all year - and pass blocking was his less developed skill...   he had a monster contract year on the field.  He's about to paid an obscene amount.    My guess is the old Panthers GM gets him signed for the most egregious guard contract in NFL history on the Giants.  That said, they are middle of the road in cap space, with about 1000 holes to fill too, so who knows.  The Browns and especially the Bengals worry me too, as he's an Ohio kid through and through.
    • Do you understand plain English? Find someone else to play childish games with.
    • Would it be ironic to replace Mewhort with Norwell?   He should be Ballard’s focus.     Not to intentionally keep pushing Buckeyes, but Pryor would be a great get at WR.  I think the Browns will try to get him back, and I prefer Robinson.  But TP has all the S’s, speed, strength and size.
