Have we had any conversations about Tashaun Gipson?

Recommended Posts

Gipson, for those who don't know, is a young, promising Safety for the Cleveland Browns. He also happens to be a Restricted Free Agent. He will most likely be tendered at the 1st round level.

Now I am not saying the Colts should go after him but, could you see any scenarios in which the Colts might entertain the notion? Say like... we miss out on our Safety targets in free agency?

Gipson was leading the league in INTs before his injury and right behind him was our boy, Mike Adams. Just imagine our defense with that kind of ball hawking ability from both of the Free Safety and Strong Safety positions. DIRTY!

I also like the idea of forcing Cleveland to pony up some of their money to Gipson in hopes that it will disrupt their free agency plans but, that's just juvenile thinking on my part.

We need a ball hawking FS like Gibson. No doubt. It wouldn't surprise me if Grigs takes a look at him, or maybe Will Hill. Especially given both are young players in their prime.

like I said above Moore is not a RFA and is only 25 will be way cheaper

I don't know much about Moore at all. What can you tell me about him? sell me.

he's been pretty successful in Denver during his career and is only 25 years old. He hasnt had any off the field issues that I'm aware of. He had 1 bad play against the ravens in the playoffs and I feel he gets a bad rep cause of that.

Not much of a sell TBH but, I see that Moore is a FS and Searcy is a SS... Why not both? Although, they both have inflated stats in their contract years and that is always a reason for me to doubt the return on the investment. It is a need though and we have money.

I do like Moore, and I'd be happy if we signed him. He has a few things that concern me though. The first thing is his leg obviously. The other thing is missing tackles. In some of the Denver games I watched he had a problem with missed tackles. And he wasn't that good coming down to help against the run at all. He was actually pretty bad against the run. The weird thing is, it seems from what I remember two years ago he was a pretty complete safety. I know when he came out there were concerns about missed tackles, but like I said two years ago he had improved on that and it seemed he was a complete safety. I have mixed feelings about him. I would be happy if we got him because I think he can be a lot better next season, based on his 2012 season. He can at least definitely improve on not missing tackles. I kind of think he can get back to the way he played in 2012. If he can he'll be an elite FS again IMO.

No way at all.

Especially if we retain Adams. Our Defences problem was that we couldn't tackle, 2 FS's wouldn't help that.

I also think Gipson, but think he's a classic Contract year player, very very dangerous.

So no thanks, costs too much, could also cost a pick, wouldn't help our D if we brought back Mike too.

NFL.com has Mike Adams as a SS. I was going off of that. I had assumed he was a FS as well and then I read that and was baffled.

Injured leg in 2013 didn't look the same to me this year only 4 unassisted tackles still the second best FA has to offer.

Love to see Hrigs get Gipson from Cleveland seems unlikely but it is the Browns

I don't see the Colts signing a FA safety, I really don't. I think they will resign Adams and draft Holliman. I'm thinking our money is going go towards Edge Rushers, D-Line, O-Line and Wide receiver in FA.

I'm thinking we draft Marcus Peters first if he's there and Holliman second and a Running back in the third.

I was in court of thinking they wouldn't but I'm starting to lean towards the Colts making a run at Suh

Time will tell
