The way I see it is he was always a high risk pick and they took a pretty big gamble by drafting him where they did.  Im not going to be surprised at all if he doesnt pan out

He could also become a good player thats fun to watch.  I guess we will find out in the next year or two

People complained for years that Ballard was risk adverse and that he needed to take a risk on getting a franchise QB knowing that it always a crap shoot but you have to take risk in order to get ahead. He took the risk and I will be happy if he turns out well but will not be one of those 'told you so guys' if he doesn't. there have been a few who already are doubting Ballard. Can't wait to see him next year.

I'm wondering if the Bengals will use this season as an excuse to move on from Zac Taylor...

If Jim Harbaugh becomes available, you might have brothers coaching in the same division against each other. Now, the NFL would salivate over that. But would Mike Brown be able to get along with a strong personality like Jim Harbaugh?

Jim would love to be alongside Lou Anurumo, and be good for the Bengals.

Harbaugh is going to want a contract like Payton’s.  Not all teams have the wherewithal to do a similar deal.  For me he winds up with the Bears and Bellicheck to the Giants.  Just spit balling of course.

Browning looked ok for being thrown in there. They do still have good weapons.

Yeah, they were without Tee Higgins and Sam Hubbard, the pass rusher opposite Trey Hendrickson. Hubbard is a top 9 run stopping DE in the ENTIRE LEAGUE, not just the Bengals (note the rushing yards given to both Texans and Ravens the last 2 games he wasn't there). If both of them are in there, they are a different team, IMO, with Chase to pair with Higgins and Hubbard to pair with Hendrickson.

I think Jim is too much damaged goods at this point. Too many investigations going on. The dude screams crooked.

He didn't say.  He just said that AR has the most extensive injury history of any of the QBs available for the draft.

My impression is that most people think these injuries were a surprise.  Apparently, if AR was the most injury prone coming into the draft, then what happened to him should not be unexpected or be considered a stroke of bad luck.  That's how I think about it.

could be his style of play brings more injuries

This latest investigation is a joke.   All teams scout and try to get the other teams signs

There’s other investigations from previous years. But, that said, the NCAA is worse and more crooked than Jim. They’re power hungry and don’t seem to care about integrity.

    • Since I was banned from the forum during the height of the best time to talk strategy and roster building… for posting laughing gifs (you know, since they were removed as an emoji)… I am going to remove myself from the forum indefinitely. I will admit that I have been condescending towards frequent negativity on here, and it is what it is. It is a sad irony when one can get banned from a forum for pettiness, while the GM of the forum’s organization can drop expletive after expletive with the national media, and get praised by many for it. (Not dogging on his tirade, just the irony behind it regarding this forum’s policing of words and comments.)    I look forward to the remainder of the offseason and rolling into the season which should be exciting. Happy with the picks- Latu and Mitchell should work well to address the explosive need on offense and limiting explosiveness on defense. Two true playmakers at crucial premium positions on this roster. Feels like we are going to look back and be lucky to have them fall to us. Stacking some quality o-lineman and filling the roster out with some speed and upside throughout the depth chart will be fun to watch come together and develop.    Have enjoyed discussion with many of you. Wish you all the best. Go Blue.
