Thoughts? Who do you like?

Here's the breakdown by position:

3 QBs

1 RB

5 WR !!!

1 C

0 G

3 OT

4 EDGE !!

7 DT !!!!!

3 CB

2 LB

1 S

At this point it looks like the draft will be extremely strong at WR and at the defensive line(both EDGE rushers and interior linemen). Not very strong on the interior offensive line, but might have some good OTs. Overall I like this draft from what I've seen so far - both at the top  and depth-wise.

Yea this list will change a few times for sure. One guy that might sneak in is Te'Von Coney - LB for Notre Dame. Very good Roquan Smith type of player that will get a lot of eyes on him combine draft time. Would love him but he fits the WILL spot for us imo. I see him as a top LB and a 1st round guy come draft time.

I think if Barkley doesn't have a solid year teams might go back to the late 1st or 2nd for the earliest pick for a RB. ALL that hype behind Barkley. Not saying he won't still end up with a great season just saying in general.

Ballard’s theme for the first round of the draft seems to be blue chip players with All-pro potential. Hooker and Nelson were both the best at their position and elite in college. Ballard also believes in building the lines. I’d say DT or OT could be the early pick because of the talent there lining up with his MO.

Late 1st at best. He’s not on Barkley’s level and I wouldn’t consider any RB next year in the 1st based off other needs. If a RB liked D. Guice dropped in the Colts lap in Rd 2, I be all for it. I don’t think Love is that guy though. However,  we have three young RBs who just might surprise by seasons end.

oh i wasn't comparing him to Barkley but it would be awesome if he fell to us. of course we wouldn't pick him up in the first but maybe second

As a Stanford fan of nearly 50 years,  believe me when I say that I wish you were right.    But I'm afraid you may have Love confused with someone else.

His first game,  against San Diego State,  18 carries,  29 yards rushing.   Not a typo.

His second game,  against USC,  22 carries,  138 yards,  but 59 of those were on one carry.   So, his other 21 carries were for less than 4 yards per carry.

His third game,  against UC Davis,  he sat out.    Didn't play.    It appears he sustained a likely concussion on the last drive of the USC game and so he sat out for precautionary reasons.

He'll be back this week against Oregon.     But something is very wrong with the Stanford running game so far this year.     Not good.

The best news about Bryce,  is that he's reportedly up to 205.   He put on roughly 10 pounds of muscle.    That's good news for the NFL.     But that's still 6 months or so away....

My early projections for next year’s draft Rounds 1/2...

Round 1 - DT or MLB and currently looking at MLB Devin White.  From what I have seen he seems super fast capable of blitzing,  quick to diagnose the gap and stop the run and has hands for PBU/Ints.

Round 2 LDE Austin Bryant has very good tape and tackling.  Shows good pursuit angles.  To me he would be an excellent replacement for Jabaal Sheard who is 29 years old and will be a UFA in 2020.

I love Oliver, but Jeffrey Simmons might be the most explosive interior lineman in the class if he decides to cone out. The tape actually matches the PFF ranking. He dismantled LSU and destroyed Arkansas. There’s a small asterisk next to the box for character though. But it was a long time ago

It still involves a video similar to Mixon though. This might drop him a round or two and take him off some teams boards. Not saying ours but man he is productive. Looked really good last year and has looked good so far going up against some good lines. I hope to hear his name a few times against Bama. Could see him slipping to the 2nd round or even 3rd when everyone starts to talk about the video and character stuff.

Yeah but the good thing is that the video is already out there and he’s done all the PR stuff. With Mixon the tape surfaced a few months before he was set to get drafted.

No Mixon's video was out there almost a year and a half before the draft. Just like this situation it has been taken care of sorta speak but yet when draft season gets here the national media will want to start the uproar again. Happens with various things every year. Different degrees of severity though.
