That game was so much more stressful than it needed to be haha Hope you and @PrincetonTiger are having a good weekend!

I know. Those targeting calls, especially the second one, seemed bogus. But I have not been paying attention much to the targeting rules. Are these new rules?

Yes, the weekend is going well. My youngest sister had an Octoberfest get together which was fun. I am about to go to sleep soon, now that the game is over.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

The targeting rules have been around for a while. They're probably the most frustrating rules in the CFB but I guess it's their way of protecting the players, which I understand.

Good night!! And you too.

The targeting rule is absolutely terrible. Its really my only big gripe with college football, but its bad. I see players get tossed out of a game after a good block because it was deemed targeting. CFB needs to toss that rule into the trash.

I do support doing what is necessary to protect players. However, the second targeting call against Stanford seemed unnecessary... Then, the "guilty" players are escorted off the field as if they have been arrested. I don't like that. Let them watch the game with their teammates.

Serious question: Why is the "guilty" player sent to the locker room after being called for "targeting"?

Great win but would the result has been the same in better weather and/or with Speight starting

Yes I think so we once again have a great Defense and we have a great coach as well if we could just recruit better against OSU and Michigan we would be legit contenders every year

Yeah, I don't like the calls. Did you see the game yesterday? The game should have been over at least 30 minutes before it actually was. The refs kept the game going with those calls. One of them seemed ridiculous.

Having said that, I am for player safety.

Lewerke seems to be a winner too. Might not be Connor Cook good, but he's decent. Can keep plays open with his legs

I didn't see it, but I can imagine. UK had a player ejected from a game earlier this year after he threw a block on a guy that was running towards the QB. And it wasn't even helmet to helmet. What's he supposed to do, let his QB get killed? Seems a bit over the top to me.

Completely agree. There's no need to take them off the field.

Glad my Boilers got a win against the Gophers last night after a weather delay!!!! Great way to end a game with an interception and score for Coach Tiller!!!!

That was a good game.  Heard so much about them hiring Fleck (whom I didn't want) and they ended up with Brohm.... I can't wait for a couple of years when he gets some recruits in and puts his full system together.

Could be a really good thing.... lets hope anyway.

Good job Boilers and I am sure Mr. Tiller was proud of their grit yesterday.

Defense is looking good. For a team to turn the ball over 4 times in the first half and still win is pretty impressive IMO. There's a lot of excitement in Boiler Nation right now, heck perhaps they even get into a bowl this year?

He would be up for coach of the year if he takes them bowling, IMO.
