If hes not Martinez to first Tyler O'Neil  to right not a bad backup plan.

Hopefully he is fine but you are like me when someone gets injured for the Cubs, I always think of a Plan B. I never dreamed Bote could fill in for Bryant the way he has - we have been lucky there. Losing Carpenter still would be a big loss.

That's great news! Thanks for the update. Yeah well ran teams like the Cubs and Cards do have depth so that helps. Cubs were never well ran until Theo arrived. Our FO and Manager now know what they are doing. Joe can get a little crazy with the different lineups at times and Pitching changes but I can't argue his Win/Loss record.

Hes a good manager , I like Shildtz as ours . He handles things much better than Matheny

The Nats whole lineup is actually scary, well at least most of it. Of course Murphy and Harper but Zimmerman and Turner are no slouches either.

Don't forget Soto. Very dangerous line up and it's amazing that the bats woke up and the pitching stepped up to at the same time for the Cards. That's an accomplishment to keep that lineup from scoring runs. I'm waiting on the Cubs to get a stretch where they put it all together. I was hoping after that brilliant pitching performance by Hamels and the walk off homer that would inspire the team but these Cubs just don't seem be able to get any momentum.

Carpenter hit by pitch and hurt

I hate that. If it's on purpose there is just no excuse for that. I can understand pitching inside to push a hitter off the plate but if you can't control your pitches then you don't have any business trying that. Atlanta had the same thing happen to their hot hitting kid Acuna. First pitch of the game hit him on his elbow it looked....and it was definitely deliberate. He was going for 6 home runs in 6 consecutive games. These guys throw way way too hard now days to be purposely hitting guys. They are going to have to do a better job of penalizing and getting this out of the game. The game can't afford for its star players to be sitting out 6-8 weeks for broken bones all because a hot head pitcher can't get someone out.

Harper in my opinion is overated , hits HR's but .239 is not superstar material .

Considering the way he started out the season that isn't bad. I mean he was hitting like .214 almost half way into the season. Past month he is hitting .337 and ops of 1.115 with 7 home runs and 20 batted in. I know the Cubs are suppose to be in on him next offseason but I do have my worries. He is very streaky...he has so much movement in his swing...I don't like it. Needs to get quieter with his hands and get the bat in the ready position (nob to the catcher) quicker. He is still moving all around as the pitcher is getting into his pitch but because he is so athletic he can catch back up etc but I definitely think it causes him problems at times. All that said he is a deadly hitter still. I mean just look at Carpenter the past month or so...he wasn't exactly lighting it up either before that. The difference though I think was Carpenter was close...Harper when he is missing...he misses BIG.

The Metropolitans end up scoring 24 Runs, just WOW.

Hope they can save some runs for deGrom. Lol

I did not know Facebook broadcasts games. Apparently the Mets-Phillies double header is being shown on FB (or Bookface, as my fellow Vikes fans call it).
