His father Steve was a coach at Navy. He was a huge Baltimore Colts fan, and also a big fan of Hopkins lacrosse.

I had a master chief like that on the boat. Never smiled would just go "ha ha ha ha ha" in a monotone laugh then back to quiet. It was very off putting lol.

He got his start as a film guy with the Colts.

He was hired by Ted Marchibroda to cut film as a paid assistant.

Ironic how he was a Baltimore Colts special assistant , and almost was the first head coach of the Baltimore Ravens when they moved from Cleveland.
