Is It Me Or Is The Media Resenting Irsay's Twitter Account?

I see some of it happening because he is contradicting their rumors.

The other part of it is that he can speak to the fans dircectly in real time without requiring ESPN or some other new outlet which wil inevitbly try to parse up what he says to create a story. Hence, they deliver more misinformation and rumors to fans.

Lately they are calling Irsay a Hippocrite for not keeping things in house, but he has rarely said anything on twitter or publicly that should have been kept in house.

I believe that was mostly around the past week, when he was talking to the media about Manning, while at the same time somewhat bashing Manning for talking to the media about the situation.

Which was hypocritical.

I think you may be on to something. Twitter really takes a lot of the wind out of the sails of these guys. They can't be the first to get a story if Irsay Tweets the news to Tens of thousands of people first. And, as metioned, he can shoot down the nonsense that they have to come up with to fill Paper/air time/web space etc..

Irsay could just be saying the politically correct answers just so he doesn't cause any major waves. To many reporters and so on háve been saying for weeks they r hearing we r letting go of manning. Where there is smoke there is fire

I agree

some media dislike it because he scoops them

Others dislike it (like some people here) because in their judgement (if they were owner) it's inappropriate because he is the owner

IMO, they can just get over it

What Irsay does is up to him. And for the most part. (aside from giving away a TON of stuff to fans) he's using twitter the same way the rest of the human race uses it

And BTW, why is it ok for players but not ok for owners?

Were there is someone looking for a story, they usually create one. Even if its not true.

He's bypassing them.

The media is lazy and have MASSIVE egos. half the time, they just repeat what each other says.

Thank goodness for twitter, then we don't have to rely on Krapitz.

Yep. La Canfora is a prime example. He could have called Irsay and asked him about the story before he reported it. Or at least added Irsay's response, because he's certainly accessible. But he was either too lazy or in too much of a hurry to get that rumor out.

Sloppy reporting, no matter how you look at it.

Irsay isn't going to confirm that story come on. People are acting like Irsay has never said one thing but another has happened.

The point is that reporters are supposed to attempt to confirm a story, or at least get a reaction. La Canfora did non of that, and he's as bad as all the others who throw any crap against the wall hoping that something sticks.

Please explain your second sentence, if you're implying that Irsay has lied.

I think this is the main reason why espn is setting Irsay wants to be the new Jerry Jones. Even though its obvious he is not trying to be the new face of the franchise. He is making changes that should have been made a long time ago and calling out the rumor mongers while he's doing it. The media doesn't like this and so they are firing back by saying Irsay wants to be the next tyrant owner.

Like anything else in the media they rant and rave without doing much research. They talk about how Irsay says all this stuff about Peyton on twitter. Yet when one host said he went to look for an example he couldn't find any and said they just got tired of looking after a while.

There is a reason for that. Irsay doesn't put a lot of his stuff about Peyton on twitter. What got him in trouble was the words he said with his mouth. For the most part the things Irsay says on twitter is fairly harmless and isn't the big major story the media wants it to be.

Backing up hypotheticals with another hypothetical?
