I totally agree with this... i hope this puts to rest about the colts getting the 1st round pick.. i am praying that they do win their last game.... what i wanna know is since the losses were put on caldwell's shoulders who's shoulders do those wins go on? caldwell still isnt a great coach... not even close but what does that say about the team and him?

Wait, you agree with this? Weren't you pretty much the champion of Curtis Painter for the first 3/4 of the season? But now you totally agree that Orlovsky should have been put in earlier in the season when, at the time, you disagreed with the people that thought Painter should be benched in favor of Orlovsky?

Why because I want whats best for the future of the team?

I have to agree with you SilentHill. I have been a diehard Colts fan since they were in Baltimore and I was a little kid. I never want the Colts to lose...however....this season is gone. They gain nothing but pride by winning next week against Jacksonville.

I remember back to Harbaughs final year with the Colts. It took two things happening the last week. The Colts lose to the Vikings, I believe. And the Cardinals upset the Falcons. Those two things put the Colts at the #1 pick. Now, imagine what the Cotls would have been if they had NOT gotten Peyton Manning.

I am sure it will work out either way. If we lose to Jacksonville, Andrew Luck will be the future QB in a few years. If we win, I think Justin Blackmon will be the next great Colt WR. And then maybe Tannehill in the 2nd or taking a chance on Kellen Moore in the 4th would be interesting.

Ok, a win is nice. Great.

We'll probably have Caldwell next season, Polian isn't going anywhere, and the long term future of the franchise just had a massive lump of excrement dumped upon it.

Winning now is fine. Winning - for a while - is the way to do it.

Polian: Going for 16-0 is meaningless.

3-13? Go and get it!

Fantastic. Irsay apparently shares this mindset - because Team Nepotism will be here for years to come.

On a team as poor as ours - Luck gave us a chance. Not a guarantee, but a chance to be decent post Manning. Once he's gone, get ready for the dark ages.

Wow, you make Luck sound like Tebow.

Heavy sarcasm intended...

that's called tanking and isn't logical because it would drive away fans......which wouldn't be very logical........follow my logic?

No, because teams that are statistically eliminated from the playoffs must be bad teams. They have all the ability to lose while trying as they have proven by getting to the point they are at. Simply not changing for the better is not tanking. Now I do get it that Caldwell is on the hot seat and he changed it so he could keep his job, but I'm not too fond of him either so I would rather have not seen that happen.

OK, I totally understand why some fans are upset about this win. Just looking at the shot of the fans in the stands spoke volumes. After Reggie's TD, some Colt's fans were cheering. Others looked angry.

I watched with mixed emotions. I was thrilled for the players especially Dan O. (can't spell his last name) and Reggie Wayne who may have played his last game as a Colt. But, I was also thinking that this win may take away that #1 pick . . . whether that means Luck or not.

Whichever side you take is fine, but this thread has gotten way out of control. Calling one another trolls, dipsticks, or whatever is a violation of forum rules. Keep it up and this thread will be closed and warnings issued.

your right whoever would have came up with the number 1 pick could have more than likely went with Leaf, Which if I remember, everyone thought the colts would, but we didnt we took Manning instead, and Leaf went second, so no one can truly say what will happen next week, or this upcoming draft. we can all voice our opinions. My opinion is finish the year strong and make the best out of whatever draft pick we get. Who knows

I remember the highlights from that game. The Cardinals won it on a drive at the end of the fourth quarter that ended in a TD to put them ahead. I remember them showing the highlights and the commentator saying, "The Cardinals would secure the #1 pick with a loss, but noooooo.....what are you doing? Don't catch that pass." But if the Cardinals beating the Falcons gave the Colts the #1 pick, how did the Chargers end up with the #2 pick? Did that win really bump them from #1 to beyond #2?

I can understand the fans here on the forum that want to see the team lose. I'll admit that I'm a little torn myself, but why would anybody go to a game that you don't want to see your team win?

How can some of you fans not see that a loss tonight would have made this team stronger......Im not looking at the now Im looking at the next 5,6 ,10 years ect This was a game that can come back to haunt us for a long aztime...Its doesnt make you a Colt hater just means you are looking at the long haul and not not some pointless win. They did there job but it could have did more damage in the long run.....It does not feel good to say that but Im not goona look away from the facts .....keep or trade the #1 IS BIG TIME THIS YEAR BOYS!

Your losing, digging a hole that you cannot escape.

If anyone lost tonight it was you and the texans, none of us are trying to win a stupid argument over the internet, really we are all here just to support our team and our opinions

Seeing how OUR colts won, when you want them to lose, labels you as the loser..things just didnt go your way

    • Hmmm.   ”Healthy excuses will be hard to come by.”    Really?   Richardson, who had less than a thousand snaps in college, then had roughly 200 snaps his rookie year.  There’s one.   And Houston has Stroud who had a great rookie year.  Aren’t most media predicting Houston and JVille ahead of Indy this year?  That’s two without any trouble.     I just think insisting on a division title because a fan thinks it’s time doesn’t stand up to much scrutiny.   Sorry, just my two cents…. And often not worth that much.
    • For me absolutely it does. If Richardson stays healthy excuses will be hard to come up with. As positive as I am with Ballard at some point we have to start winning. He bet on himself by bringing in his own home grown talent this year, what he does at safety in the coming month and a half has me worried as well. We were so close to winning the division last year with a back up QB that my expectation is winning the AFC south this year.    If they make it into the wild card game and lose then the seat is just as hot for me. If they advance further and make a Cinderella run then I’m fully back on board.
    • 3 straight losses for the Reds. They have their moments where they play well. But it’s time to be real. They aren’t a playoff team and will never be as long as the Castillinis own them and David Bell is manager.    De La Cruz is fun, but his career will be wasted on this team.
    • Am I reading this correct?   You think Ballard’s seat gets hot if the Colts don't win the AFC South?  Really?   So if the Colts don’t win the south but make the playoffs Ballard’s seat still gets hot?    Just making sure I understand your viewpoint.
    • Yes, yes he did. If you scroll back to old Pagano post you’ll see how much blame he got. I definitely hold Pagano is regards to letting Luck down on the offensive side of the ball. I also see the Houston Texans inevitably going down the same path.   D’joun Smith is who you’re thinking of.   Grigson is looked at as an overall bust and a terrible drafter so naturally the blame will be more widely accepted. There is no doubt things will be heating up under Ballards seat if anything less then winning the division is obtained this year. The QB position has been his Achilles heel. If Richardson is healthy this season I believe his roster will be very heavily evaluated with no excuses this year.
