mcdonald or guy

Please don't pick up Landon Collins. He's Mark Barron 2.0.

He is a reasonable hitter who gets burned in coverage.

Would rather see what McDonald has got this season and address the Dline. A good Dline can mask shortcomings in the secondary and then address it next year in the draft if we need to.

lets assume the colts will not draft a safety and wont pick one up in free agency and either mcdonald or guy starts. can they produce as a starter at a solid level, not even saying good level, a solid level. mcdonald does have good size at 6 foot 220 and was a good contributor on STs. guy is a former starter from the jags so he does have experience. im not advocating for either one, however there arent much options left. the colts dont seem to be interested in pollard and Im really not excited about any safety in the draft. perhaps we can draft josh shaw and move him to safety

I agree with MTC on this one it would have to be Mcdonald for me. the Kids intangibles are great. Good Size and Speed!

Yes they can both produce at a solid level. Feel better?

Contract years don't count, everyone does well cause you tryna get paid

All years before last season he's been hurt and when he wasn't hurt he was below average

Of course contract years count, That's ridiculous, Based on the carries he had when healthy and touches he was not below average

At this time the Colts don't a need a ball hawk safety. The Colts need a heavy hitter. If they can get Collins that would be great. If they can't I still think there are some pretty good safeties in this draft. According to some reports Tartt (Samford) or Clayton Geathers (Central Florida) are some heavy hitters, that can be had in later rounds. When Antoine Bethea came out Nobody was talking about him at all. I think he got drafted in the 5th or 6th round and how did he turn out. With that said the Colts need a safety that will make you pay if you come in that secondary. Could McDonald do that? I don't doubt it but I would be pleasantly surprised if not shocked

    • I doubt any of us here have spent more time studying the health issues of Latu than the Colts have.  If they are comfortable with it that’s good enough for me but that’s just me.
    • This makes me so happy. It's Karma for all the lies and deception the NFL has put out since recently. They supposedly care about player safety, so lets add a week to the regular season with plans to add more. All these international games where teams have to travel more and the fans get less home games. All the games now that are going to be on various streaming services off TV where people can't watch them with their family. The blatant terrible refereeing the last few years in order to rig games and expecting people not to notice. The Taylor Swift crap this last year where they sold their soul.   It's all about money. That's all the NFL cares about. We are trash to them. The players are trash to them unless they make the NFL money. I hope the NFL has to pay out $14B. This would be exactly what they deserve for ruining this sport to the point where it's almost unwatchable now.
    • This aged like fine wine. After this happened, I bet $1 on the Lakers to win the NBA Finals next year. Get $31 dollars if they do. I'm buying into the conspiracy theory that the league will give it to Lebron and Bronny. Also think the Lakers will make a move or two in FA.
    • When I say lose huge this is what I mean….    The NFL has to pay $4.7 BILLION for breaking anti-trust lawsuit.      BUT WAIT!!   It gets much worse!   Because it’s anti-trust that can turn into triple damages which means $14 Bill+   Now before you shout “Good!  I HATE the NFL!”  And you’re glad they lost, think of the broader implications…   The NFL gets $20 bill in income yearly.  Losing $14 bill is going to badly mess with the entire league.   Remember the 2020 and 21 seasons badly impacted by Covid.  Team salary caps took a big hit.  Rosters got messed up.  This would be even BIGGER.     FWIW:   The NFL says it will appeal.     For more Google: NFL Lawsuit
    • Definitely. He said the same things last year that he said this year in defending AD. He just didn't name the player he was talking about. I think QBs were the topic, so it could have applied to Levis or Stroud, but it was obvious he was talking about Stroud.   This year, some agencies advised their clients not to take the S2 test. That's about all I remember about it. I think the cognitive testing process has some image rehab to do, and if they can keep scores and results out of the public sphere, that's a good start for them.
