The Indianapolis Colts’ roster shuffling continued today as they signed safety Jermale Hines off Carolina’s practice squad, a move first announced on Twitter by owner Jim Irsay.

The team then sent out a news release a few minutes later.

Hines was on the Colts’ roster earlier this season. He was claimed off waivers from St. Louis Sept. 28, then waived Oct. 3. He did not play.

Hines, 6-1 and 218, was originally drafted in the fifth round by the Rams last April. The former Ohio State defensive back had been on Carolina’s practice squad since Nov. 17.

.....and Jamie Silva sits here in Indianapolis ready to play football. We can't cover a kick or punt yet we fail to consider bringing back one of our best special team players in recent memory. Oy vey!

No thanks... Jamie Silva is sooooo slow its not even funny, doesnt help if the only thing you can do is play special teams.

Are you sure that he's OK? He missed all of last year due to injury, and I don't think that the Colts even brought him to camp despite there being a need at the position - and nobody else has touched him either.

Speed only helps/matters when you're running in the right direction. Lot of fast guys come into the league who can't play football. Silva's a baller.

Trust if silva was faster he would still be on this team, he was an ok tackler... the guy ran a 4.78 and a 4.89.... thats like a blocking TE time lol... thats not gonna cut it at all.
