My guess is it's front-loaded so it's more like a 2-year, 11 million contract. I think it's a good signing, but we will have to wait and see if it was worth that money. It fills a need and now narrows down our needs going into draft. Now go get BYRD!

 

On the bright side, he turned down more money to play for Colts instead of Broncos/Titans/Dolphins(one of those was offering more).

It is pretty expensive, it puts him above Curtis Lofton, AJ hawk and Stephen Tulloch.

I'm not crazy about the money we gave him, we essentially gave him a 2 year 11 million contract. 5.5 per year is too much for an aging ILB in my opinion. Would've rather had Daryl Smith or Shayne Skov/Prince Shembo in the draft.

D'Qwell Jackson's new contract makes him the 14th highest paid ILB (was 9th). Most below him are on rookies contract, so that's about right.
