Wondering if we should check out all options for CB?? Not totally sold on Davis for the type of money that it is going to take to keep him.

hes a perfect fit for our scheme he knows the system and think he was at least in the top 10 for shut down corners and you want to get someone else

Actually, no...  Davis & Toler at starting CB's?  Even though our pass rush wasn't the greatest this year at times it seems like when we played the better teams in the league we could not get off the field.  I'm not putting this all on Davis's shoulders, because the defense has to get better as a whole.  It's gonna be a lot of money for someone who may or may not play up to that level next year.

in other words.... "We had zero pass rush outside of Mathis and sometimes the good teams scored on us. so Davis isn't very good."

Davis was NOT the problem last year.  He is a MUST sign FA.  Priority #1.

Davis is a top CB Toler is the one that sucks we need a better FS to pair with Landry and a better #2 CB

Well grimes got 8 mill yearly Davis is 5 years younger so I'm thinking Vontae would want about 11 mill or 10 a year that's a lot. I would rather sign a guy like Sam shields for 8 mill if Davis is wanting way too much

I don't think he gets that much.  I think the difference is he's gonna ask for more guaranteed money and maybe a slightly higher salary.

I'd say 4/36 - 20 mil guaranteed.  First and 2nd year salary fully guaranteed plus 2 million signing bonus.

And then Sam Shields will come in, struggle in his first year like most players do in their first year in a new defense with new teammates, and before the season ends people will be calling for Shields to be released so we can sign whoever is the flavor of the month to replace him.  Rinse and repeat.

I don't think shields will struggle granted he is not as physical as Davis but his speed makes up for it. I've seen a few GB games where he gets burned but his speed and closing makes up for it. I just don't see Davis as a 10 mill yearly guy.

    • This Pacers team is very exciting, they play team ball, have beautiful ball movement, and good athletes that can shoot the 3. Haliburton is young and so are others on the team, so they are going to make mistakes. They made 2 crucial one's the other night that cost them the game. They deserve to be in the Final 4, once you watch them play. You come away with, that is a damn good team.
    • It is no doubt the hardest position in sports. With me regarding QB's, it depends on what team they play for, and it depends on how likeable I see them as a personality.    For example: I will never root for a QB to do well/succeed if they play for Houston, Jacksonville, or Tennessee. Can't do it, they are in our division. Also, I will never root for a QB to do well/succeed if they play for Pittsburgh or New England either. Too much bad blood over the years with me with those teams. I can't stand either team. Attitude wise - 3 QB's I never liked were Ryan Leaf, Colin Kaepernick, and I am with you on Jay Cutler. Cutler was an odd ball that didn't seem to want to master the position but had all the talent in the world. Leaf was a jerkbutt, and I have my reasons for not liking Kaep which I won't get into in here.
    • First Pacers game I have watched from beginning to end in at least 10 years.  I felt like they were exciting to watch.  They do get sloppy sometimes.   They move the ball well, lots of passing.   Boy they really let this one slip away.  As the coach defend against the inbound for a 3 pt shot and immediately foul.  Still hard to pull off, but you can't let them have that 3 pointer.   I still struggle to watch the NBA.  Traveling,  carrying,  pushing and shoving,  phantom foul calls.  Just weird to me.
    • She is doing just fine, through 5 games she is averaging 17 Points, 5 Assists, and 4 Rebounds and still hitting the 3 well. Problem is the Fever have a bad team right now. They will get another high draft pick next year which should help.    They could easily be 2-3, they have lost 2 games by 2 points. I am following it some
    • I don't fear having a young guy back there as long as he can play and he is on par athletically and intelligent. The system is made to play young guys early.
