Here is something I don't understand about that.  Doesn't the team have the same leaders from one week to the next?  Why re-elect them every week?

 

I get maybe if someone gets injured, say maybe after Reggie went down we want to select a new on the field captain since Reggie won't be on the field.  But why vote every week?

Huh, I guess you're right. I never noticed if they have or have not worn them. We know who the leaders are without them anyway.

I can see that as building team unity and trying to make everyone responsible for the team. However, not everyone can be a leader. Too many lead cars and the train gets pulled apart. Also, I think it is a real honor to get voted a leader by you peers.
