If I were the Vikings, I'd trade AP

Imagine getting picks that would allow you to get back into the first round again this year and pick twice. 5 first round picks in two years would mean a very talented young core for the next decade.

 

Or even being able to trade up into the top 5 and get your hands on the franchise quarterback that they obviously need?

 

I'd definitely grab that opportunity.

Yeah that would be genius for them to trade their only good player on offense and possibly their greatest running back in franchise history so they can draft some more busts.

AP is 28 and he definitely doesn't have the same ability this year as he did last year (I don't think any back has done well after a 2000 yard season...I think Barry had the next best one).  I don't think trading him is a bad idea in the football sense, but Minnesota will revolt if they to trade him.  It would make sense though.  They need to accumulate draft picks, build up their defense, and get a franchise QB or at least work really hard to develop Freeman

Should they trade AP? If they an get enough draft picks in return absolutely. 

 

The real question is...Who would trade for AP? You have to give up a lot of valuable draft picks plus AP is costing you about 14 million for the forseeable future.  That's really expensive.  Not many teams are going to be able to afford that.

That's what I'm saying. In all likelihood they'll be picking low, but if they trade Peterson then they basically kill any chance of them getting to the playoffs. It's a low risk high reward type of thing I think.

I agree, I would trade now. The NFC north is pretty much bears, lions, and packers. I would trade now, stock up, and see if we can catch the next cycle.

Miami needs a marquee back to take pressure off of Tannehill. Thats the best I can think of honestly

Cowboys are in serious trouble. $30 million over the cap with only 46 players under contract. They have to blow that whole thing up after this year. Definitely out of the running for anyone.
