Well, as soon as RJF took over for Justin Smith, the 49ers D immediately became horrible and Aldon Smith started playing like Granny Smith. Then again, that's also a product of Justin Smith being one of the top players in the game. RJF put in a blue collar effort, he's just not close to that level of player. Not many are.

 

Jean-Francois be an alright pickup for us at the right price given the state of our D-line- he's an average player, and someone who I'd feel comfortable with in the rotation. He's not the kind of player that, once he's signed, you can cross that position off the list of draft needs or that teams will gameplan for. He doesn't have to be for it to make sense for us now.

 

Hopefully we get him at a fair price.
