What was your favorite commercial?

For ME....

#1 - M&M's

#2 - Audi

#3 - Doritos Goat

#4 - Leon Sandcastle

#5 - Oreo

I can make a case for liking 1-4 easily enough Happy2beHere, clever username BTW. Naturally, a person is free to like whatever commercial they prefer for a myriad of reasons. Perhaps, Oreo's are your favorite cookie, A relative that you have an iron clad bond with always gave you a tall, cold glass of milk with a package of Oreo's everytime you visited them at their house, or you found the quiet librarian stereotype taken to extremes very funny.

I found it hard to listen to myself with everyone in the ad whispering. Again Happy2BeHere, I am glad you found humor in the commercial. That's great! I guess I merely interpreted the TV ad differently that's all. Hey, variety makes the world a better place. We can't all like the same forms of entertainment right?

Personally, my favorite was the Montana Stain Tide commercial.

That Is until I saw this Skittles commercial today. Unfortunately it did not make it to air.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7EGjaxhTWs

About the only place that the Skittles Commercial would air is without public outcry is in Thailand, China & Amsterdam, The Netherlands.   Those 2 locations have the same thing in common: A rampant red light district catering to human trafficking.

so the video i linked with my response isnt right, for some reason the clyds dale commercials was linked which I thought is my favorite the one i was commenting abut was the volkswagon commercial, but seems everyone knows what I am talking about I just wanted to make it clear, another one I didnt like was the Doritos commercial with the goat I just didnt get it

i am not sure but I think the goat killed someone...

I didn't like that commercial either. Strange...I'm sure goat lovers out there were not very enthusiastic about it either. Snacks & chips are supposed to be marketed for humans not animals IMO. Epic AD Fail!

What the heck are you guys talking about. I thought it was one of the funniest commercials I've seen in years. What's to get?

A guy see's a goat for sale. The goat likes Doritos. The guy likes Doritos. "Hmmn, I think I'll buy the goat because we both like Doritos". Soon the new friends are eating Doritos together. Happy happy times. Lots and lots of Doritos consumed. Ever escalating insane quantities of Doritos are consumed. Soon the guy starts running out of Doritos, and can't concentrate on his hobbies or sleep because of the pervasive crunching sound. The next day the goat catches the guy hiding the Doritos stash and preparing to sell him, and he gets a little cranky. Watch it a second time and suddenly you notice that the original guy selling the goat is wearing a neck brace. haha Hmmm. Wonder how many times this cycle has repeated itself.

I laughed out loud, and would have teared up if it had been longer than 30 seconds. It's delightful nonsense, and as to who it's marketed to, I doubt that anybody who watches it will forget either what a Doritos bag looks like, the crunching sound they make, or how additive they are. I thought it was about perfect.

To me, & this is just my interpretation so feel free to disagree with it, the goat runs the show & gets whatever he wants...Namely, an endless supply of Doritos. The neck brace on the previous owner says to me that he failed to share his Doritos with the goat & was physically harmed. The goat is addicted to Doritos & must get his daily fix. When the Doritos are gone or removed by the new owner, the goat lacking impulse control, goes ballistic, & kills his new owner when he discovers that his new owner is hiding his Doritos stach. The goat has escalated from bodily harm to murder because he is addicted to Doritos & he can't stop his compulsion & he will do whatever he must to satisfy his addiction & get his fix by any means necessary. The goat reminds me of Kathy Bates in the film version of "Misery."

I was just advocating for the Doritos goat commercial, but I also liked (in more or less descending tiers)

Bud - Baby Clydesdale

cars.com -wolf pup

M&M's -I would do anything for love

Hyundaii - driving with insane distractions

Oreo - library fight

Kia - where do babies come from

Hyundaii - kids picking football team

Audi - prom night

Taco Bell - seniors night out (although parts of it made me squirm a bit)

Speaking of squirming, I'm also ashamed to say that I was repulsed by the go.daddy commercial. Turned my head and covered my ears. In theory I'm all for "everyman" having a shot at a supermodel, but there is apparently a big difference between wanted to "do it", and having to watch some other schlub "doing it". That was just disgusting. (By the way, to start a second controversy - personally I'd chose Danica Patrick over Bar Refaeli any day).

All in all I didn't think that it was the best year for commercials, and I thought that the consistency deteriorated markedly just before half-time. I thought that they usually saved the best for last, but there was nothing much there. I also hate the idea of releasing them online ahead of time. Defeats the entire purpose.

 Well, I love Kathy Bates as well. Terrific actress, although I have no idea how fond she is of Doritos.

Glad, I was able to provide some comedy relief MAC my friend.   If I really wanted to carry my example of an addicted goat to extremes, I would say this: Goats have long been associated in literature as a satanic, evil symbol embodying the devil & the goat destroying that wooden structure & shattering that glass picture frame with his hoof dictates a lack of impulse control & anger resolution issues. My dad had a neighbor who had a goat once. It ate everything in sight & crapped everywhere & I do mean everywhere too. Am I prejudiced toward goats? Yeah probably. Do I hold this animal in high esteem? Absolutely not.

I do agree 100% with you on something though MAC. Kathy Bates is a fantastic actress!  ;)  Some people love Doritos. For me, it's Twinkies or at least it used to be before the Hostess Co. went bankrupt anyway. Sigh...

That Audi Commercial kind of grew on me. I was never one of the beautiful people in high school or a jock for that matter. I was always kind of a misfit outcast. That's why the ad was so cool to me. It catered to the idea that a sweet ride gives you confidence that you might not possess or over compensating for something if you know what I mean in some circles. Just Kidding!

That Godaddy ad still sends chills down my spine. Yikes! Yup, releasing commercials early is like referring to the same joke over & over again. Eventually, the humor gets saturated, over exposed, & loses it zinger potency.

I find it ironic how Americans are always portrayed as extremely uncomfortable around issues of physical intimacy. Naturally, a person doesn't need explicit information at such a young age, but this country seems to have some difficulty openly discussing bedroom issues with their partners at least that is how it seems to be conveyed in the advertising & TV realm anyway. Still a funny ad though I will admit.

Yeah, I'm partial to redheads, but if my choice is Danica Patrick or Bar Refaeli, Danica wins everytime for me as well MAC. Like a WKRP TV debate between Bailey [Jan Smithers at 1:45  :woah: ] & Loni. Bailey wins hands down everytime in my book.

Okay, sorry about that MAC. The clip didn't post properly try this one instead & no I am not condoning illegal drug use either. I always had a thing for Jan Smithers. She's the woman in an altered state in this clip...A great TV Show IMHO.

I think this Best Buy Ad was based on my aunt. A nice person, but she never comes up for any air. Silence is indeed GOLDEN.

Not funny...Just 1 question: The guy in the radiation suit driving the semi...Never gonna happen because hazardous waste is usually carried by train at 3 A.M. when most people are asleep in bed.

Last one for now, I never saw this Fiat car ad during the SB. Those women would make great super heros; They could change into their disguises/uniforms in no time flat. Eat your heart out Batman & Spiderman!

http://youtu.be/Afg78yjIBrE

I never saw this SB commercial either. Quite a memorable sting to this TV spot. Very suggestively potent in more ways than one...GoDaddy could learn from Fiat how to sell merchandise without grossing consumers out.

Yep! I don't really care for OREO cookies too much truth be told...but I just found it comical...the other ones made me laugh, the Oreo just made me smile a tad...Overall most commercials not great...but I still think that M&M one takes the cake by alot!

Not a SB commercial per say, but Roger Goodell was responsible for the power outage at the New Orleans Superdome as a result of revenge & retribution for bad Bounty Gate publicity.  haha

Or better yet, it was a Beyonce halftime show illuminati conspiracy theory. Were do they find these people?

    • Partridge just seems like players will love playing for him.     The little I have saw from him, just gives me more hope that he will take the DL to the next level with his coaching.
    • Picking it up, guarantees he doesn't walk out the door after next season.   Gives you 2 more years to evaluate. Pretty cheaply too. 2yrs $17.5m.   Don't see any reason to roll the dice, might only get more expensive, if his trajectory keeps going up this year.     Projected to have $56-$70m in cap next year, with his option already figured in.
    • Declining the option doesnt mean they are letting him walk.  It does happen often when the option is declined but 13.5 is a lot for him   I doubt they will pick it up today
    • They seemed really high on Goncalves. Obviously they traded up for him, but sometimes in past draft videos, you see Ballard satisfied to make a pick just because he is highest on their board. But with Goncalves, its clear they were really pro-active in in ensure they took him.
    • Some things that made an impression on me:   - we did try to move up. I wonder for who? Last year Arizona put up a similar video after the draft, I would love to see if they show the Colts calling them for 4 this year...    - we DID meet with Laiatu. Seems like it was at the combine, probably one of those quick 15 minute ones and he probably had tons of them and didn't remember this specific one. I love that as a throwaway question as he was walking out they asked him what he's going to run... he said in the 4.6s ... and he went out and did it. There is something about a prospect who promises something and then hours later goes out and delivers on that promise. Especially in athletic sense since he wasn't one of those prospects that had athleticism as his calling card. On the rest of the video... I like him... he looks like a genuine guy who loves every step of this process and enjoys it. Love how excited Partridge was too... what a vote of confidence for him as a new coach not just on this team but in the league - give him the best pass-rusher in the draft to work with.    - everything in the bit about AD Mitchell was about his talent. "Way too talented to pass up here"... Every single word we got from scouts, coaches, FO members... everything was about his talent. Not a word about the character/attitude stuff. Not one. Now it's obvious to me they probably cut off some of that stuff, but interesting to see what the Colts want to portray about the player. So yeah... with AD it's all about the talent. For whatever it's worth, he looked like a pretty chill dude in the interview they showed. Part of the rumors that were floating around was that his interview with one team was so bad that within the first minute of the interview they knew they wouldn't be drafting him. I guess we will never know what exactly all that was about. In the grand scheme of things... it's all on him now... just like with Stroud, none of the noise will matter if he comes out and works his tail off and shuts up every naysayer in the world.    - Matt Goncalvez seems to be the favorite player of the Colts in this draft. Kind of like Khari was a few years ago. "culture fit" is probably the best descriptor here from the video. They love his personality and they love his attitude. One of the best calls/reactions to getting drafted you will ever see/hear... kind of reminiscent with the Downs one last year. I don't know where exactly he will fit on the field... but he will fit somewhere. They will give him chances... he has all the good will of that coaching staff and that FO.    - Bortolini - impressed in the workout. IMO he will be understudy to Kelly... the new Pinter I guess? Probably won't start right away, but he has clear role IMO.   - They seem very optimistic about Carlies ability to translate to linebacker. Looking at some of those highlights they showed... he does look like EJ Speed or Shaq or Okereke... with his speed in pursuit. They mentioned him potentially covering TEs. I can see it.    - Loved seeing Ballard giving Jamie Moore the chance to make the call to the guy he's been fighting for throughout this whole draft season(Jaylin Simpson). Good gesture by Ballard, bet it was a great feeling for Moore.    - In general I love all those calls and videos of the reactions by the prospects. Seeing young prospects achieve one of the big goals of their lives and starting their paths to even bigger things, is awesome. Love it.    - "That's not a prank call, is it?"
