I really hate when you have a third or fourth and short and you empty the backfield.  At least make them think you might run the ball.

No points offensively. That's not gonna do it. Had to run a trick play to get a score.

As close as it may seem at times it really isn't. Pitt will definitely hit something deep at some point.

 

Plus we have no comeback ability.

Our bad playcalling sure didn't help there. You don't go empty spread on 4th and 1 at the goal line. Have a running back run out of the backfield or play action.

Back injury questionable to return.  This has been a bad game injury wise, Kelly, Davis, and Hilton all hurt plus Luck before the game started.

That's a very good point......with a non-running QB..it then becomes 7 coverage guys on 5 receivers in a small space

I haven't been impressed by the coaching.  They came out throwing into the teeth of the blitz with a backup QB, not learning from the last two games and still trying to single cover Brown, yes even if it was Davis, and then throwing out of the gun twice inside the one including emptying the backfield on fourth down.

 

the fake punt was well called but one good call doesn't make up for the other mistakes.

..but when the game began, we didnt know if he could operate the offense and complete passes.

He's shown he can do that...he's had drops.....

I disagree, it's been a good game plan to go deep.

Obviously if he's ok, but that was a huge shot he took.

Well in his defense, the strip sack isn't really on him. They blitzed a safety and gore was supposed to pick him up! And I like him being aggressive out there. We don't have any shot otherwise.

Strip sack was more on the line than him.  Also he's gotten jail breaked tonight which again goes on the line.  He's also made some really nice throws including one that was a TD that TY dropped and another one to Moncrief that was.

 

For a backup QB he has played very well.
