Andrew Luck will have to go through Cosby to wear #12

worst case scenario, luck does the class thing and chooses another # over quan friggin cosby. gets nice articles written about him all that. Then has a rough rookie season. cosby's colts career ends with 3 or 4 catches in junk time and he's gone after this year. We all run out and get our (insert # here) Luck jerseys, and after a rough year luck wants to go back to #12 with cosby off the roster. nightmare.

please it's not like he's going to go in there and say yo Cosby number 12 is mine got it?! If you don't I am going to make sure you are cut!

Getting another player's number has nothing to do with class. Normally the guy who has the number gets paid a little something for it. This kinda thing happens all the time in the NFL. If Luck does it or doesn't do it it reflects next tonight about him in terms of class it just reflects how attached to the number 12 he is.

Andrew: Um, Mr. Crosby, I was wondering if you would be willing to part with your jersey number. I wore it in College and it would mean a lot to me.

Quan: Yea...I figured you would be askin. I am kinda getting attached to it....ya know?

Robert: Dude, give him the jersey.

Quan: Yes Mr. Mathis.

Andrew: Thanks, man.

That's a nice way to talk about someone who is on the roster of your "favorite" team.

What do we think it is going to cost Luck? A car? Straight up cash money?

This has happened "MANY" times in the past. Low 5 digits for a "premier" player.

Which Luck is currently. Of Course the roster spots on this team are so..... "unsafe" presently that if I were Cos... I would make a donation to the "Luck Foundation" and pray the franchise likes him and and gives equal compensation for said good deed.

Just one angle on the situation. .. Which when AL arrives in Indy will be NO situation at all.

I think Andrew should wear #13. If he has a bad game, he can blame it on his jersey.

I think we should give him lucky number 7, but I think we retired that at the same time as 18 to thank Painter for all his.. erm, contributions, if you can call them that.

After Painter's horrific time here wearing number 7, I don't think the Colts should ever give that number to another QB ever again.

In all seriousness though, I really don't get why anybody cares what number he wears. I keep seeing people say "the #12 is played out" What??? Who cares? I don't give a crap what number he wears as long as he plays good and really don't know why anybody else cares either.

I call them contributions because they are coming to fruition tonight.

    • And I’m sure frank, trying to be the good little solider in the new job, said “sure, I can work with Young, but I’d rather have Stroud. We all would, in fact”. It would have been a bad look for frank to go in there after just 2 months on the job and say “I can’t make that work” to anything, especially concerning the choice of QB when one of his calling cards was being a QB guru of sorts. He wasn’t going to delegitimize himself to his new boss by vehemently opposing Young. The best he could do was go with the flow and hope for the best because tepper in all his inexperience had already made his mind up based on what the talking heads had filled his ears with for months on end. Frank could have said he wanted to draft Jim Plunkett and tepper would have just nodded, pretending to listen as daydreams of Young danced in his head.    Frank Reich with free will would have taken Stroud over Young every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
    • Yep, definitely not Werner, Turay or Paye. Ian Cummings - Pro Football Network - : "Latu is an impact pass rusher on Day 1, with one of the deepest pass-rushing arsenals in recent memory. And at 6’5?, 265 pounds, he compounds his elite hand usage with similarly exhilarating bend capacity past the arc."
    • If the Colts are thinking of trading up, I think the 2nd is the time to do it. I fully expect the Bills to take Mitchell, but there is still 1st round talent available. The two players I would trade up for are Iowa CB Cooper DeJean and Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper, both players are first round talent. I think DeJean is falling because of his injury and some teams see him as a safety not a CB and Cooper is a LB where it's very rare for teams to take LBs in the first round yet he is one of the best overall players in draft in my opinion. If we can somehow trade up for one of these two players, it would instantly improve our defense and our coverage ability.
    • McConkey is versatile... he can lineup everywhere. I don't think the fit with downs is that big of a problem.
