What happens if we tie and the Rams lose? I legitimately don't know?

We'd be both 5-12 in a sense since ties count as a half win and half loss. Then it becomes SOS which we're worse so we'd stay at 5

Are you sure?  We would be 4-11-2 and the Rams would be 5-12.

Do the math. Two half wins counts as one whole win. Same for the losses.

I didn't realize that is how the nfl did it.  I thought they would go by win %.   Colts would be at .235 and the Rams at .294.

Tie breaker rules consider as 0.5 W and 0.5 L, so when you look at the standings it really is not 4-11-1, it's actually 4.5-11.5 when you begin to go through tie breaker.  two ties will make it a whole number each side again.

If we draw do the Texans keep no. 1 no matter what Chicago does?

Yes, Assuming Texans tie Colts, and Chicago loses, both will be 2-13-2  and 3-14, or both will be 3-14 in other words. SOS is higher for Chicago so they'd be 2nd place in that scenario and Texans take the #1 overall pick. If Chicago ties or wins, Texans still #1 even if they win last week.

Only way the Texans DO NOT get #1 overall draft pick is

If Texans (3-13-1) beat Colts

AND

Chicago (3-14) loses to Vikings

In that case, Chicago (3-14) gets the first draft pick.

It could very much happen as well.

I am hoping that happens.   It would be best for they Colts if Houston lost a bit of draft positioning.
