I pretty much always thought what this article addresses.

Coyer wasn't so much of a problem. His hands were tied.

For all the excellent things Bill did for this franchise, he also did a few things that brought us to where we are now.

amen to that

Definitely agree as well.

I would love getting Green in the 4th instead of Fleener in the 34th spot. Unless we're planning on using the 2 TE set like the Pats which I would then like to get Fleener AND Green.

I would rather get Jenkins at 34 and Green in 4th which would take care of two needs and add good talent

I think if the Colts don't manage to get Fleener, Shiancoe is definitely worth a look (I'm not saying I want to sign him, but he's good).

So you think he is good; you think we should look at him; but you don't think we should sign him?

They said Peyton would retire a Colt Freeney will leave.

I won't. E shocked at all if he leaves. It he could also re-sign an extention too but it is stupid to pay him this much for a one year deal in a rebuild mode. I could see the team kicking the tires during training camp and how he fits in. If he doesn't fit the scheme or he pouts about it, then u have to do whats best for the team and let him go. 19 mil is too much cap space and 14 mil is over priced. Base salary.

As the article says 19 million is way too much for what Freeney provides and hes killing the 2012 cap.

Pulled up the FA tracker before reading this to look at TE avail. Ones left either have a lot of years in the league, let go for a reason being age or money. Or they are fairly young, but obiously (?) didn';t make an impression on the powers that be. Would just as soon pick up someone in draft though not a lot available, but some in middle rounds.

Green would be a good pickup and better than using the 34th on Fleener IMO, but I don't think there is anyway on Earth that Grigson will pick Jenkins, even if he fell to the 5th rd..

if hes smart he will take a chance, we seriously need a shutdown Corner and we dont have that now

I wonder why no teams have bit on Shianco?

I am pretty sure that Fleener will not be there at the 34th pick and if they could bring a veteran in with good hands before the draft than the Colts could focus on filling the other posts that need filled.

At this point, it's probably the other way around.

Focus on the draft, and use the post draft FA period to fill in positions of need.

Though that doesn't happen if Freeney's contract doesn't get renegotiated, which I still think will happen.

I think he's good and the Colts should take him in for workouts. He may be good, but it doesn't mean he'll fit in well in our new offense. That's what I mean by "take a look."
