League looking for ways to put suspense back into the draft

Richard Deitsch of SI.com reports that the NFL, ESPN, and NFL Network are discussing ways to avoid this. The league says that it won’t show players on the phone from the green room on draft night.

It's about time they addressed this. Now they need to get rid of insiders (Adam Schefter, Jason LaCanfora, Chris Morterson, etc..) who ruin the pick before the commissioner announces it.

well heres a thought. stop showing the draftees on their cell phone

That's a really good point, and MTC saying they should get rid of the insiders news during the coverage is also a good point, b/c it does take out the suspense of who it will be.

Then again, this isn't a reality show, it's a draft. When you think about it, they're technically doesn't have to have suspense at all since most of the viewers watching want to know who's being picked, not feel tense. Suspense is just a bonus.

After the top 5, it's more a surprise. I agree with the above posters; stop showing the draftees on their phones, it kills the suspense. Just show the analysts talking about who they THINK will be taken and then show the commish announcing the pick. Much more fun for the fans that way.

I was beginning to think that I was the only person that felt this way.

Well they can say on live TV after the pick is announced that they were the first one to call the pick

There not suppose to show them on phones this year, but we will see you know how it goes.Must be the first station or person to air breaking news hope they dont spoil it.
