He actually linked it to his ability to push off.

Heavily restricted for 3mos? IIRC, both Frank and Leonard said he's miss the start of camp, but would be ready for the start of the season. The start of the season is right at 3 months. I guess it's possible he does nothing all camp and goes straight to playing a new scheme in game one, but would assume he'd be back at least a week or two prior to week 1. Again, that's if you trust what Frank and DL said.

Also, why is a nucleoplasty nonsense. It's less evasive and can be performed as outpatient surgery. His wife actually posted that he's already walking outside the day after. I was under the impression a discectomy normally requires a short stay??

Nope, you walk right out of the hospital the same day of a microdiscectomy. I did with no issues. I was just restricted on how much weight I could pick up.

Lots of misinformed comments here... At his age he likely had a Discectomy.

A real doc would not confuse ankle pain with a lumbar nerve compression, I suspect he has both.

Nucleoplasty is nonsense.  Wow, good grief.

Nobody has ever seen a 5 gallon milk jug.

He will be heavily restricted for about 3mo to avoid reherniation which is about a 10 percent problem in regular humans during the first 6-12 weeks.

A Discectomy has very little predictive value for long term back issues. Playing football is terrible for anybody's back, however.

He probably does nothing until the regular season, but it's all a bit arbitrary.

LOL, it was a 1 gallon milk jug and not 5 gallon. I had a desk job at the time but I did end up taking 6 weeks off. I had been suffering on and off for years from my herniated disc until I sneezed really hard one day and blew it completely out.

I have an ankle issue as well and I've had multiple surgeries on it.

My employee went in in the AM, stayed the night and home the next evening. He was 50s, tall (6-5ish), and a bit awkward lol. He was on his back (pardon the pun) for several days lol. I know his his was a general discectomy. I'm not sure, but I think there is a difference between microdiscectomy and discectomy.

    • It’s one practice.    One.    And from one practice you’ve extrapolated that this will be a problem all season long and we’ll miss the playoffs.    All from one practice.    I think you’re reading way too much into way too little.   Is it possible you’re right?  Sure. But it’s not likely.       OL play is typically slow to come around.   It takes time to gel.    Whatever the line is today, it should get better over time.    It started slow last year when injuries hit 4 of our 5 starting lineman.  But eventually the line gelled and Taylor ran for 1800 yards.   Remember?    This year we have two new starters on the line.   It’s going to take time.  Give it time.
    • Im not a big fan of responding to a post with a mountain if stats, but these are pretty simple and straight forward.   Matt Ryan has 100 completions in 12 practices of 11 on 11 drills.   Thus doesn’t include 7 on 7 or any other drills, just 11 on 11.    Here’s how the receptions breakdown:   1.   Pittman    30 2.  Granson   14 3.  MAC.         13 4.  Taylor.        11 5.   Hines.       10 6.   Campbell.  8 7.    Pierce.       5 8.   Dulin.         4 9.   Ogletree.   3 10.  Patmon.    1 11.  Coutee.     1   That's 100 receptions.   Campbell is right in the middle of the group.   And 4 of the 5 WRs with fewer receptions are behind him.  PC is NOT having a quiet camp.   This is misinformation and bad analysis.   About 10 days ago fans here were predicting Granson wouldn’t make the 53.   How does that look now?    Could PC get cut?   Sure.  But it’s a long shot.
    • Classy reaction from the kid. Best of luck in your recovery!
    • It’s his contract year and the Colts need all the WRs they can get.  You are right they aren’t going to move him.  If he doesn’t work out this year they will just simply let him walk at the end of the season.
    • While it’s good to hear I think this would only really be news if they didn’t dominate the Lions defense.
