He needs to do this for all 16 games. Wouldn't it be nice to have a job that only required you to bust your tail for 3 hours 16 times a year?

I think to reach the NFL you need to bust your tail your whole life.  Then, continue to bust it year around to keep your job in the NFL.  Actually, this is pretty much true for any successful career.
