Thanks for the link. I was listening to 700WLW and they were talking about, that's what I was going off of. A lot of the guys on 700 was saying the scene down there was terrible on both sides. A lot of people called in saying they were at the game and were embarrassed when they saw trash being thrown on Big Ben as he was carted off.

Yeah when fans throw stuff on the field that is uncalled for and they should be escorted out of the stadium. Throwing stuff at a player is Assault and Battery actually but Ben probably just laughed it off because nothing thrown at him hurt him.

I wanted to take my 13 yr. old grandson to this game. It was his birthday and he is  a Bengals fan.  My daughter-in-law (his aunt) who is also a Bengals fan had said to me beforehand,  if it was anyone other than the Steelers I would tell you that's  a great idea, but these two teams and their fans have a long history and it will get ugly.  Don't subject Tanner to that.

Good call Susan.  It was bad enough watching it from home, and we missed the  sideshow we would have seen at the game.

And I agree with others who have stated it wasn't just Bengals fans behaving bad.  There's enough equal opportunity blame to go around.

Same thing going on @ 1530 AM (ESPN radio) in Cincy. Bengals had this game. Instead of running Hill on 1st down after the Pitt TO with over a minute to go, should've downed the ball three straight times & make Pitt burn all 3 of their timeouts. Kick the FG. It's now 19-15 & Pitt has to drive the length of the field after the KO with no TOs and score a TD to win with about 1:20 left.

Harsh. Being the old man that I am I just stay at home and watch the games in peace and chat with you guys. Eat wings and drink a couple of drinks. Don't have to fight traffic either.

Best seat in the house.  Right in front of the big screen....I am with ya!! :)

Sounds easy!  Kneel, kick, win!!  But, lets take a closer look.  The ball was on the Pitt 26 with 1:36.  Unlike a victory kneel a QB is expecting a hard rush and generally takes a little step back as he kneels to keep penetration from reaching him and jarring the ball loose...  This often loses 1.5 - 3 yards per play.  But it also only runs off 3-4 seconds max before the T.O. is granted.  Lets go with 2 yards per play average. So now the ball is spotted 4th down on the Pitt 32 and there is 1:24 left.  The ball for the FG will now be placed at the 39 or 40 yard line.  That is at or very close to a 50 yard FG kick.  Since the kicker just can't 'pop it up' and through the uprights, the chance of it being blocked or missing it completely is real.  If missed, the Steelers get the ball on their own 40 only needing a FG of their own to win and 1:20 left to achieve it. (albeit, no timeouts left).

So the kneel and win theory sounds easy, but in reality it was far from guaranteed victory.  Kickers are missing bunches of Extra Points from 33 yards, let alone 50 yard FG's at the end of the game under pressure. Bengal really did need to run the ball, advance the LOS and burn slightly more clock.  What was also needed but forgotten, protect the ball at all costs first, fight for yards second. Nah, protect the ball at all cost second too.  They didn't, and then melted down.

Yep. Two venues. Each one contains risk of a turnover. Unfortunately for the Bengals, it just didn't work out. IMO, I would've downed the ball 3 straight times losing five yards max. Try the FG with Nugent's leg. Either way, you lose by a FG if missed & assuming Pitt drives to make their's. Or, make them drive from the 20 to score a TD to win it with 0 TOs assuming Bengals FG is good.

Shazier hit was legal because the Cincy receiver caught the ball and turned and became a runner. He was no longer defenseless so helmet contact can be made. Brown was defenseless as he did not have the ball when his head was hit. Both plays were called correctly by the refs.

I disagree he barely started turning and I don't think it should matter head hunting should be illegal  but burfict did what they are teaching players to do now and that's lead with the shoulder if shazier did that then I would agree with you but he didn't.
