nobody understands Adam Archuleta

He's a good commentator. Actually knows what the hell he's talking about unlike some commentators.

Some on here thinks he knows the Colts better than the coaches. Didn't hear it from me tho.

seriously..what he meant was that once a punting player touches the ball...the receiving team can pick it up and run with it.,,

,because the ball has already been 'downed' and will come back to that spot if it is fumbled

But since the ball was inside the 5 yard line when the Jax player picked it up..and he was surrounded by Colts..

........it wasnt a GOOD play..its simply didnt qualify as a bad one

The whole call was nonsense. How can you say, the ball is dead and No fumble, where it was touched, and then give the jags player forward progress from where he touched it, after the ball was dead, from touching the former player? Shouldn't that make it a fumble?

Its an odd, strange rule but you have it right..

Touching the punted ball downs it but does not kill the play.

The receiving team can pick it up and run for a TD..and if they fumble trying,,the fumble does not count and the ball is returned to the spot when the punting team touched it..

Its a rule that seems to defy most other posession rules in football

Yeah it's a strange rule like the free kick on a fair catch kickoff.
