RJF- Return to Indy still an option

I hope. we need another all star to spark this team to the superbowl

An all star can't play if he gets suspended. He is only one incident away from losing time. He is too expensive and we need more than one play maker. We need play makers and one player will not fill that need. IMO.

I think i would rather get more "regular star"/difference maker level players to fill most of the big holes holes, than spend a major chunk of the FA money on one "elite super star" in Suh; and then have to fill in more of the holes with just "regular journeymen" type players.

Unless he literally moons the crowd, he's not going to get any kind of meaningful suspension. He would have been suspended one game after the Aaron Rodgers situation.

Not to make light of it but it's not like he's in the drug program and on his way to a major suspension.

Soon as I send out that last tweet, Jean Francois' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, tells me a return to Colts still possible: http://t.co/CjUDYhmDWF

Must of slipped through the cracks.

I think it would be strange for him to come back, but not take pay cut?

I'd have no problem bringing back RJF...  but only for the right price.

Clearly more than the veteran's minimum....   he may not have been worth the $5.5 Mill he was making but he'll be offered more than the vets minimum by plenty of teams.   And I'd be fine with bringing him back to a more modest contract with some incentives....   but we need the cap space and if RJF wants to return after he explores the FA market -- fine.

I guess I just have a problem with his dirty play. Suh's willingness to go past the point of being a mean and nasty player to the point of being a dirty player is well documented. JMO

Francois was a decent rotational player in SF and average rotational player here definitely not worth what we were paying him. The best thing i liked about him was his sack dance. But i wouldn't be against him coming back on a more reasonable contract.

I like this move by Grigson shows me that he will be aggressive this offseason in upgrading the talent on this roster.

IMO Knighton and Thornton for approx 6 million each. That takes care of the D-line.

Sign Clint Boling or Orlando Franklin to shore up RG.

Draft LB, Safety, and OL.

What is we grab Boling and Franklin, move Mewhort to RT and cut Cherilus? Then Boom, we have a good o line. Then we can focus on defense in the draft and grab a rb in there somewhere.

Me too, but I still don't want to commit quarterback money to him.  Even if wasn't a dirty player, I just don't want to commit that much to one player.

    • Yeah, like Bo Nix??     So much over reaching for QBs.
    • The Matt Gay hate is a convenient outlet for Chris Ballard hate. Which explains why it's mostly unreasonable.   However, I don't understand why they're putting him out there right now. He's evidently hurt, and he needs some time to get right.
    • Speaking of Baker:   I've been skeptical that Bryce Young can overcome the marks against him, so I'm not exactly waiting for him to turn it on. But I was skeptical about Baker as well, for different reasons. He never looked as ineffective and incapable as Bryce has looked so far, but he's a good example of a player who a) was in a bad situation, and b) still had to get better at QBing.
    • Well, I thought the Olubi kid showed some solid play making ability with good tackling so i'm surprised they pushed rookie Carlies, who missed a fair amount of time, ahead of him so quickly. So one could say the position has been addressed by drafting a LB each of the last 2 seasons with guys our people like.  Carlies did play 46 snaps Sunday. Like our other Gus led LB's he didn't seem to be where he needed to be when needed. But what the hey, that becomes much more likely when you have 2-3 seasons under your belt, With a d-line playing well in front of you.     It wouldn't surprise me at all if Williams throws for 250+ with 3 touchdowns. The little devil on my shoulder tells me it would be a good thing, just another nail in Gus's coffin. And of course that is a sad place to be. lol
    • If the past two seasons have shown anything, it's that you can never fully write off a QB based off of limited information. The NFL journey can be a long one.    Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold... All written off as failures just a few years ago.    @Superman and I have spoken for years on how the surrounding organization plays as much of a role in the success of a QB as traits and abilities.
