So childish...why not to give all 8.000 bucks to children's hospital and forfeit that stupid act?

Yeah, that kind of spending doesn't sit well this time of year

I saw a story on the news the other night about a little girl with cancer...........and she really wanted to get on the school bus and go to school with the other big girls in her neighborhood

Her parents worked it out with the school district to allow her to register one day

And her family was beyond joyous.......just to see her having one normal day at school..........like other kids

It gave me the much needed reality check that I need this time of year when I start to feel bad about the things I cannot do and the gifts I cannot give to people

When in reality,I just need to appreciate all the wonderful healthy people in my life

I don't mind it. It's building up the rivalry in a good-humored way (rather than drunk fans fighting with each other because they're more "passionate"). And I like how they're giving money to charity too. True, they could give it "all" to charity but you could say that about every donation. When Peyton, Brees, Brady donate money, they could certainly afford to "give" more. It's not realistic (and maybe even fair) to expect that.

Exactly as it stands some niner fan had the idea to raise money to fund a billboard, with the extra money raised there is a donation being made to a children's hospital...

Had the money for the billboard not been raised, then people probably would not have donated that money, & it definitely wouldn't have been going to that particular hospital, either way I think it is sort of funny & the Children's Hospital does get a donation...

but I am not a fan of the Seahawks or Pete Carroll, so there is that too...

It goes both ways. Seattle fans have a brick in the Niner's stadium because they donated to the upgrade fund, and even paid to have their fan banner flown on one of the flag poles when they were playing at SF. Its just good natured rivalry stuff.

You could say that about anyone of the bourgeois establishment, especially these athletes that get paid so much money just to throw balls and catch passes. It can apply to anyone with money.

It looks like the 49ers fans are upset about the beatings the 49ers sustained at the hands of the Seahawks the last couple of times they visited Seattle.

Seattle just brutalizes the 49ers in Seattle while the 49ers squeak by on a last second field goal at home against the Seahawks.

The best way to create a rivalry is to demonstrate your athletic prowess on the field. Forget a lame digital billboard. Philanthropy is fine, but some sophisticated form of materialistic advertising adds nothing meaningful to live competition on the field.

Donating to a billboard fund is not the same thing as donating to the Red Cross, Habitat For Humanities, or another worthwhile charity in my mind. What a waste of time, money, & resources...SMH...

    • Hey Everyone,   So, I just caught wind of Goodson's apology letter after dropping that short pass from Minshew against the Texans last season. Here's my humorous take on the situation:   "Dear Fans, Coaches, Teammates, and Supporters,   I'm writing to apologize for buttering up that short pass in the most critical moment against the Texans. Look, I know I'm the backup running back, but hey, I'm usually good for catching those short throws - emphasis on 'usually'. My bad for turning a routine play into a blooper reel moment.   To my teammates, sorry for making you wonder if I was secretly playing for the other team. Next time, I'll practice catching more than just footballs thrown by the water boy.   To the coaches, maybe let's reconsider throwing short passes to guys who have hands that are more slippery than a greased pig at the county fair. Just a suggestion.   And to the fans, thanks for turning my drop into a meme. I promise to work on my catching skills so I can make highlights, not lowlights, next season.   Sincerely, Goodson (aka the running back who should stick to running)"   Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit, but you get the gist. Let's hope Goodson has been hitting those catching drills hard this offseason!
    • I remember looking for highlights of TJ after we drafted him.  I kept finding videos of him following OJ Howard into the endzone.  Not sure if Howard was his responsibility, but it didn't paint a promising picture.
    • Ballard,   So, yeah, about that whole "bust" thing—I guess the cat's out of the bag. Turns out, I'm more of a popcorn fart than a thunderclap. My bad.   When you drafted me, I thought I was gonna be the Colts' next big thing. You know, sacking quarterbacks, making highlight reels, maybe even getting my face on a cereal box someday. But instead, I've been about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.   I've watched the tapes, Coach. I've seen the memes. They're comparing my NFL career to a hangover—starts off with high hopes, and ends with regret and a lot of Gatorade. And honestly, I get it. I'm like that guest who shows up to a party uninvited and ends up eating all the chips.   So, here's my mea culpa. I apologize for not living up to the hype. For every missed tackle, every missed sack, and that one time I accidentally tackled our own quarterback in practice (sorry, Philip). I'm like the guy who brings a guitar to a party and insists on playing Wonderwall—I'm annoying and not nearly as good as I think I am.   But hey, I'm not giving up. I'm hitting the gym, studying film (mostly bloopers at this point), and practicing my touchdown dance for when pigs finally fly. I promise to work harder and maybe, just maybe, I'll redeem myself and earn my place in the Hall of Mediocrity.   Thanks for believing in me, and letting me live my dream for 4 years straight whilst simultaneously producing nothing for your team. I'll make you proud yet, even if it's just by being the team's MVP of Bust Central, and we aren't talking bronze heads.    Sincerely, Ben "The Bust" Banagous (Not sponsored by Gatorade yet, but a guy can dream)
    • if you scream MODS! in anything I write,  I might get in trouble. hahaha
    • MODS!  This should be enough to force you to bring back the laughing emoji option!   Funny stuff!
