to be fair, griffin just began running over the course of the last 2 games.. and is just now gaining confidence in his previously shredded knee.... i dont think rushing numbers are an argument we'd want to hold too tightly for the sake of benefiting future arguments for luck's sake

to be fair, his running was what got the knee injured in the first place

I think the only game he faced prevent was against the Packers... i dont think he faced prevent against the bears, cowboys, raiders, or lions....

and even though they got down by 20 against the eagles.. if i remember correctly (had a few beers during that MNF game.. lol), then game was decided by an onside kick with about 2 minutes left... I don't see why philly would be in prevent with the game legitimately on the line

Philly played a prevent the entire second half.

Philly played a prevent the entire second half.

they were only up by 13 for the majority of the 4th quarter.. why would they have been in prevent for the entire second half?

are you saying that philly didn't blitz not one time in the entire second half? that they had 5-6 DB's 30 yards off the ball on every play?

if so, the coaches in philly are *.

You make a bunch of excuses for his sub par play. Heck, you think 49% completion percentage was "solid" against Dallas

No excuses. His total game in Dallas was an improvement over his past performances. And his game last week was the best of the season so he is feeling good I am sure heading to Denver who has a D that you can pick apart.

I actually looked it up.

In the 2nd half of the Eagles+Packers game his line was:

45 of 66 (68%), 489 yards, 5 TDs (7.5%), 1 INT (1.5%).......6 carries for 30 yards.

In all other games+ the first half of GB+PHI:

98 of 172 (57%), 1275, 3 TDs (1.7%), 5 INTS (3.0%)......32 carries for 203 yards.

Im telling you they played an umbrella defense the majority of the 2nd half yes.

What are the first half stats? Bob has faves a bunch of prevent in the second half this season. Much easier to move the ball down the field against a prevent defense

So that's Griffin's fault?  It has already been acknowledged in this thread that RG3 and the Redskins literally have one of the worst defenses in the league.  Just last week, the Redskins defense gave up 41 points to the Bears BACKUP quarterback.

what does that have to do with him playing terrible in the first half?

Well, technically, he gave up 31 points to Bears with the backup in.

He had knee surgery. Didn't play in preseason.

what does that have to do with him playing terrible in the first half?

Well, he hasn't had a first half in his entire career as bad as Luck's second half was against the worst pass defense in the league. Yet Luck still got a fraudulent AFC POTW due to the NFL's desire to replace Peyton's marketability in the Midwest market.

Yes i do.... Do you? I notice you left the offense out. If you can't see this kid is the goods then you should go elsewhere ok goodtimes

Your optimism is cute. This kid has done very little. Horrible rookie season. Pick after pick after pick. Decent start in year 2, but now that the best player on offense is out, our season might be going down the toilet.

He actually had a much better rookie season than Peyton did. He has done pretty well since. Now go away goodtimes before you get banned again.

Redskins have no chance at this game, Denver is going to be * after we took them to the woodshed for 3 quarters.

I expect a blowout.

They were supposed to be * after displaying vulnerability against the Jaguars and after Irsay called Manning out to the media and created a stir, but that didn't turn out very well in terms of performance, at least in the first half. Everyone knows Denver's M.O., and I've been calling it like it is since last season. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up losing this one.

Emotions only go so far. Football is all about match-ups. The Skins match up well against the Denver D and likewise I think Manning will have success against a Skins D that has been better the last couple of games. I think will the game can turn on ST which is where the Skins have been horrible the last two games in particular. I think a lot also depends on the health of Manning. I have a tough time believing his wobbly throws on Sunday were from his ankle only. I think his arm/shoulder was hurt by the Matthias hit. It will be interesting to see if the Skins send pressure early to test out Manning's strength especially on the sideline throws. I also think if theire is an emotional factor in this game it is with the Skins and Shanny's desire to beat the team that fired him.

I wouldn't be too concerned if I were a Broncos fan, I expect Denver to actually cover the spread this week...

Washington must play without BOTH starting safeties, Buck.

One got hurt and the other knucklehead got suspended ..

....The Colts have 2 veteran safeties and they gave up 33 points to Denver

The problem at Denver is always the second half

..when the mile high air makes the vistors fade...Washington, liker Phily, wants to runa fast pace in a place where fast pace wears your own team out....

The Redskins have to slow the game down and that's not how they play...

Washington has been running more with Morris and Griff so I am not sure how that indicates they like to play fast?

    • I’m not a religious person, but since you’re an educator I think you’re doing Gods work!   In these crazy insane times we’re all living in you’re doing one of the toughest jobs on earth.  And you’re teaching perhaps the most difficult generation to deal with.     From a distance it feels like you’re being very unfair to you.  I’m hoping in time you’ll see yourself in a completely different light.    Someone highly thought of.  A leader in the community.  A protector of young minds.   I couldn’t admire a teacher more.
    • You are too self-deprecating. You are one of the most respected and bright members here. You should never feel that you are failing. I'm sure your wife and children don't feel that way.  Indiana does not pay teachers what they deserve. But money is overrated. Having good morals and good character should be valued a lot more. JMO.
    • They make a heck of a lot more money than I do. Even those on the practice squad are making life changing money.    To be completely honest, as an educator I feel more like trash nowadays. One of those moments where I feel like I’m failing as a man, a husband, a father and a teacher. I would absolutely never consider an honest working NFL player as trash.
    • Food for thought… Once again, you continue to be your own worst enemy.     The Colts overall TE room is loaded with young players most of whom have had very little playing time for a variety of reasons.   So if you want to say the room might not be ranked high, that’s fair.    But you don’t say that.  You call them “trash”.  Why you feel that’s appropriate is a mystery.   Whenever you try the internet tough guy approach it typically blows up on you.     No one is trash.     You ignore the last three years and the QB and HC carousel the Colts have dealt with.  All of which has impacted the Colts weapons, especially the TE’s.   Ballard has publicly talked about how promising he thinks his TE room might be.   Woods, Granson, Ogletree, Mallory and MAC.    Only MAC is questionable and that’s because the salary hasn’t matched expectations.  But the first four?   All are promising.   They’re just young and looking for opportunity.  But they are NOT trash.     There’s a difference.
    • Some of the coaches?   That sounds plural to me.   To the best of my knowledge the focus in this community has only been on one coach who may not be maximizing the players the Colts have.   And that’s the defensive coordinator.  He’s been a hot topic of conversation.  But I’m not aware of any other coach being viewed in a negative light.
