No 1 Manning Fan
I liked it too. Every once in a while they're actually witty on SNF. It doesn't happen too often so cherish it.

southwest1
Okay, let me take my lumps & get this out of the way right now. If I am going to be critical of Cowboys QB Tony Romo's failure to close the deal in the 4th QTR, I can't give Peyton Manning a pass either. Here I thought Ball was the RB fumble problem not Hillman. LOL! When the Broncos started falling behind they unraveled. Dumb penalties & no mental toughness at all. Holiday was awful on Special teams & almost always gave the Broncos bad field position all night long. Kneel in the endzone once in awhile & put the Denver offense on the 20 yard line you fool. Just because you can run, it doesn't mean you always should either. I was waiting for a big hit from Robert Mathis & I wasn't disappointed. It was quite the love tap. RB Donald Brown, much to my surprise, ran very well. He deserves credit for that. Hitting Manning often won this game & not getting Wes Welker more touches earlier. Wes could have beaten Butler with more throws coming his way in the 1st half. I'm convinced of that. That last roughing the passer call on Luck by Kevin Vickerson was a horrible call. Please... Luck showed his mobility, threw the ball well, & won the game. Congrats! Losing Reggie Wayne was so tragic though. I love #87! Sorry man... As HOF Rams RB Marshal Faulk said "Peyton won't make the same mistakes twice" if Denver meets INDY again in the post season, be careful. I guess I owe Superman an apology too. AL Michaels confirmed on the air that 18 told Irsay to take Luck after it was set in stone that INDY was moving in a different direction. I own my mistakes. SW1 never runs from them. southwest1
I just wish that someone on the Forum would post the Manning video tribute inside LOS because I, for one, would love to see it myself... The good news both franchises can now make a clean break..Hallelujah! Nothing more to see here both INDY & the Broncos will have good seasons for years to come. Both programs are in good hands... The best fan made sign I saw last night read as follows: "We love you Peyton just not tonight." Respectful & yet still moving forward IMO.

southwest1
Colts 39, Broncos 33...I got what I wanted. A close game & no lopsided victory on either side. The Colts will always be my favorite football team & Peyton Manning will always occupy a special place in my heart. As comedian Bob Hope would say "Thanks for the memories" Peyton. Neither QB has anything to be ashamed of. Many compelling lead changes took place in addition to unexpected turnovers. It was not a blowout at all. Jesus, I felt so bad for Reggie Wayne. It was horrific to witness. The picture of strength & reliability down for the count was so unpleasant to see. I really dislike seeing beloved players go down... The roughing call on Vickerson was not a bad call. It was a very stupid play by a very stupid player. He went out of his way to give Luck a chest bump, just a very stupid play and a correct call. southwest1
I was listening to Lamey and Sorgi instead of the TV broadcast and missed these things until this morning. That's the 1 thing that is difficult for me now PT. With NFL Season Ticket on TV, it's hard to listen to announcer Bob Lamey & watch multiple football games on Sunday at the same time. SW1 hasn't mastered that feat quite yet. I'm still attempting to work out a viable system to that listening problem.

If a LB or pass rusher brushes up against a QB's finger are you going throw a yellow flag now? Whatever happened to zebras letting players play in the 4th QTR? Has society really gotten that timid & soft now? Really? It's pathetic...

In my opinion, the NFL league committee needs to re-examine the "roughing the passer" penalty & distinguish between an intention hit & incidental contact just like with pass interference. That was without doubt a personal foul and a dumb one at that. He intentionally bumped into him because he thought he was a bad ***. He came off looking more like a dumb ***. He did it on purposeWatching that video doesn't look good I will admit, but does that mean all contact with a QB is roughing the passer. Vickerson's eyes weren't focused on Luck. I have trouble with the league putting all QBs in "protective custody" for lack of a better word. So, if I'm a large man & I fall on you that's roughing the passer? I get so sick of QBs being pampered. What's next? A pacifier? Sigh...

I will acknowledge that the Broncos made a lot of mental mistakes & more or less fell apart once it became apparent that this game would no longer be a cake walk to victory for Denver. southwest1
of coarse they would. It was a clear penaltyTell that to Aaron Rogers vs the Seattle Seahawks last year...Zebra mishaps do happen from time to time. I never blindly assume that every referee crew calls a consistent game anymore. That's the goal sure, but not always the final game result unfortunately. Yes, I realize that they were replacement refs, but they were still paid by the league to call a mistake free game to the best of their abilities like any other season.
