I was looking at it during the game. The Fisrt TD Colt Mcoy threw, he was on the run and I could swear he was over the line. I forget the exaact rule on this regarding what part of your body needs to be behind the line. I was supprised no one even took a second look.

On a second note. Aside from not scoring touchdowns I thought the Colts looked sharp in the first half. I saw strong running and Mr. Collins took care of the ball.

At first, I thought he might be as well. The rule is the ENTIRE body has to be over the line for this rule to come in play, even if his pinkie finger was behind the line it'd still be a legal play. I have not looked at the play again, but I'm assuming his whole body wasn't in front of the line.

Yeah as he was leaping his back shoulder and arm were behind, as well as his back foot.

I watched the highlights on espn and it looked suspect. The officiating was not in our favor that's for sure, but I think the sports 'experts' would have caught it and said something.

We did play better than the first game. Collins is a good player. He looked much more at ease. We just need to punch a few more in to the end zone.

Yeah, I saw that too and was screaming at the TV ! The line of scrimmage was the 19 and McCoy was at about the 15 when he made his throw. I demand a recount ! I want a do-over !

I thought the same thing at first. I didn't bother to rewind because I figured surely it was close enough that they'd at least mention it ans show a replay but they didn't. Fortunately I record the games so I rewound for myself. It was close but his back foot was just behind the line. It was pretty close though.

Any other forward pass by either team is illegal and is a foul by the passing team, including the following:

© A forward pass thrown after the ball has crossed the line of scrimmage and has returned behind it

Penalty: Loss of five yards.

So according to that, in your scenario if the ball crossed the LOS then it should have been called, if the ball did not then it should not have been called. But please a defender tried to tackle Wayne, then hook his arm then facemasked him all while the ball was in the air and they didn't call that. The refs weren't going to worry about a little thing like an illegal forward pass.

For what it's worth Polian was asked about it tonight and he said that by looking at the replay it was too close to call which is why it was not challenged. Sorry but for a TD that's worth losing a timeout over even if it would have left us wthout a challenge for the rest of the game.

You can't challenge TD's this year. That'd be a fifteen yard unsportsmanlike penalty.

This is what I thought too. I didn't think it had anything to do with the body just as long as the ball crossed the line of scrimmage.

I thought so too, but then I realized it was only his foot that was across. That TD wasn't suppose to happen, Melvin blew his coverage, and cost us the TD. So point is, we lost and they scored a TD on that play

Terrible coverage everyone was looking the guy who was running toward the endzone instead of the guy in the endzone. The DBs should've stuck on the receivers when they saw McCoy rolling out like that. Not only should they covered the receivers but should've been looking for a pick.
