I thought both looked good we sure stopped the run but our pass coverage was horrible we could not get hardly any pressure against weedan wow that was a nail bitter

Considering how long they've been with us, they were very good. These little moves by Grigs are inching us more towards being respectable. I hope he keeps it up.

I wished he would uncover a diamond in the rough stud olineman. Mcglynn is not it and Satele and Justice are just serviceable and Reitz is just avg to maybe slightly above but not irreplaceable.

IMO, Shipley could be that guy.

Both of those guys were consistantly putting pressure on the RBs.

But not very good when they were passing the ball.

If we are just talking about pressure...the D-line's job in a 3-4 is to stop the run at the first level around the LOS on run plays and then open up gaps for the linebackers to shoot on pass plays by commanding a double team somewhere along the line. DE's in a 3-4 aren't built to get to the QB as much as 4-3 DE's. So if that's what you are referring to, I think they did an ok job in all aspects and they did so against a really good Brown's O-line.

Yeah, more or less I was just referring the the pass rush in general.

But also the front line has the job of pushing the tackles into the backfield to get to the QB. So all-in-all they were average, but good for their first time in the system

You know I like Shipley a lot as well. Kinda irked we are continuing with Satele after what he showed in Sateles absence. And I do know we have the big guy on IR that polish drafted but his knees are a big question mark after 2 seasons. If those 2 were to get into the center and either RG or RT spot, we could live with Reitz at the LG spot and focus on other pressing needs.
