You know he has been preparing that monologue for a long time.

No doubt.....

He had everything down.....and he executed it live..

..especially at the end..the co-ordination with the lights and special effects.

I know he's done Saturday night live where you deliver a monologue.

But the SNL crowd loves you no matter what you do..

This was a crowd that didnt automatically love him

...He told a good joke about Phil Jackson...something about the Knicks had a bad year where they had to drag an old veteran out of the building..(everyone assuming he meant Oakley) ..and then the Oakley thing, too."

The audience didn't respond but he stepped past it so smoothly..

He didn't rush but he didn't hesitate..

..and by the way.if you are going to sit in the front rows at an awards show..dont you know you will be mentioned by the host..?  I mean..Peyton's not Don Rickles..but Durant had to know he'd be mentioned some way.

John Cena was ready when Peyton made fun of him

I think I cracked the Warriors thing too with the Cavaliers. This time next year if we get the same finals again.......Lebron needs to play "the song" and get the Cavs into the groove.

I don't think Pat can top Peyton. Peyton was really good the other night.

I'm kidding..

I don't think anybody outside of sports outside of Indy knows who Pat McAfee is.

I think Peyton is going to stay 'retired' from pro football until Eli's career is over for a lot of reasons.

so I'd guess ESPN will ask Peyton to host for as long as he wants to do it.
