Why is never the players' fault for stinking it up?

Whats nots simply about it, it's on the coaching and gm at the end of the day

And what responsibility lies with the player? Please enlighten us. Actually, this kind of comment is ridiculous. If it were true, all New England Patriot players over the last 15 years would be HOFers, as we all regard the NE coaching staff as the gold star standard. Or is it only applicable to the Colts?

1.Its on the GM/Coach if the GM brings in a player that is good at 1 particular area of the game yet the coaching staff tries to force him into a specific role unrelated to what his skill is 1 example: Pass rusher a GM brings in yet the coach drops him back in coverage multiple times a game

2.Its on the player if he is hyped up being a good pass rusher/man cover corner/insert specific quality here but yet when we bring him in and he flames out after that skill is put to use correctly. That's on the player.

the responsibility of getting guys to play to their ability is the job of the coaches and finding the type of players that the coaches can get the most out of is on the gm. only thing thats on the player is to play to the best of their ability. that being said doesn't mean the ability is high , which comes back to the gm finding them guys and the coaches getting them to preform

So, what if they have a lot of ability, but can't play to the expected standard, you push all the blame to others and not the player himself?

You make a great point, in the case of players like Josh Gordon and Albert haynsworth type players it's on them your 100% right. But gm has to identify them and get them off the team

Hope so NFC. Thanks for asking. Wife broke her ankle last week wnd seeing the surgeon on Monday. All being well, I will be going!

ooooh  So sorry to hear that.  I had my ankle in one of those lovely boot casts 4 years ago for about 8 weeks.  I feel for her and hope she can find some comfort.    I hope you can still make it to the game, I know how much you were looking forward to going.
