RG3's locker room action figure shrine?

I still contend that comparing Griffin to Vick is an insult to Griffin. If his NFL career follows the trajectory of Vick's it will be a massive disappointment, even if he doesn't have to deal with all the legal trouble on the side.

I don't think it will be a massive disappointment, outside of the legal issues. Vick has always been a difference maker in the NFL. But I don't get the comparisons, outside of the obvious.

It is not a big deal. Just another way for Colts fans to make themselves feel better about Luck. You would think his performance on Sunday would have been enough to make us feel good about drafting Luck. Anything to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Bro my statement was JMO... he likes "his comfort ... tools" .. whatever they may be. Dude is entering a "whole different level of football. He flew under the radar ALL of last season. Pro football equals PRESSURE.

But for a potential #1 pick in the NFL draft to roll into training camp and pop off to the world that "practice is easy compared to the game" .. sigh.. really.

He has no idea what he has facing him. Maybe he aces it ... and maybe.... he is another bust / project.

Who knows? I do know I like hearing about "work ethic" , or "leadership" , or "ability to absorb knowledge" ...

instead of my franchise QB's "Marvel shrine" ...

JMO.

Whatever... it's all good.

Indy has Luck. Wash has Spiderman .. errr. .. who?

and Vick is "the most unreliable player in the NFL"

Is that who you want running your team? The risk is NOT worth the reward.

It is an insult. Griffin has a mind and will read defenses better on day one than Vick does now. That's not even taking into consideration their personalities and other things that would only make Vick look lower.

I would like Luck to be better than all other QBs. Isn't it strange to think otherwise?

Of course you want Luck to be better, but by nitpicking on "non-football" items? His hair, his ego, whatever...

And saying luck is better than Manning at this point is like saying Peyton > Montana during Peyton's rookie year.

Just enjoy Luck, is that such a hard concept.

You must be talking about other comments because I've never said anything his hair or ego. I've never compared him to manning or montana or even RG3.

Is it a crime to be excited for Luck and the future of the Colts? QBs are always compared to other QBs in the same draft class and former QBs of their team. It's naturally to do so. It's not right or wrong.

First, my initial post wasn't directed at you specifically. The 2nd one either. I answered your question.

Lastly, I never once said that you couldn't or shouldn't compare any QB's, I am responding in a thread that is talking about toys in a QB's locker.

Make sense?

Fair enough. You quoted me, so I thought it was directed to me. My mistake. Also, I thought "Just enjoy Luck" implied that we shouldn't compare QBs since that was the discussion. Not trying to start a fight... that was just my thought process.

In fact, i agree "Just enjoy Luck".... but that kind of thinking would end most of the debates/discussions on the board. Where's the fun in that? haha

    • So true. I was watching his presser yesterday as I wanted to get a feel for him after some of the negativity surrounding his personality on the draft day, and I LOVED how happy and excited he was. I had a little fear that some of the fan base would buy into the negativity prematurely and make it a rough start for him, but I don’t think so anymore.    I think he and Latu are both going to be playmakers for us, if not this year then very soon. Have a feeling they bring exactly want this team needed to finally take off. They bring a lot of faith to me, together with Richardson and Steichen. Can’t explain it, but the pieces to the puzzle is suddenly to see on the table.
    • Cubs beat the Pirates tonight but the Brewers won as well, what else is new lol. Cubs are now 23-16, Brewers are 23-15.
    • Couldn’t agree more! The chip on his shoulder is a very good look. That said, I have always valued the “clutch” gene in players.    It’s truly something that can’t be coached and can’t be taught. AD has IT! Period. Exclamation point! He has it. Name a better receiver in the college football playoffs/ championships ever…   You can’t teach that. He has it. He can be that guy. He is the 33-32 Colts over the Pats, 4th and 1, AFC Championship, game changer. He can be that guy… Will he? I have no dang idea. But does he have the ability to be? Yes! Resounding, yes!
    • I absolutely LOVE that Mitchell picked 10 as a constant reminder that 10 WR’s were picked before him.  That is a GIGANTIC chip on his shoulder.   So far I like everything I’m reading about the kid.  There may be speed bump or hiccup some day….  But so far so good.
