2023 Season, Playoffs and Super Bowl Predictions

My before season picks, I had the Chiefs, Ravens, Jags, Eagles, Lions, and 49ers all winning their divisions. I am 6 out of 8 so far. I will take that all day. The 2, I missed were the Jets and Panthers. Panthers have been my only lousy pick. I will take 1 lousy pick out of 8. Aaron got injured 1st game, so the Jets pick doesn't look that bad. I thought Bryce Young would be a lot better than what he has been + there really isn't any good teams in that division, so I rolled with them. Oh well, everyone has a dud now and then. My Ravens pick to win the SB looks pretty solid as of now. My Lions pick of making the SB looks shaky but at least they have been really good, they are not making me look bad.

What is funny is, I had the Colts going 8-8-1 before the season and I was being an optimist like I normally am with them and I may be wrong, but in a good way, chuckling homer simpson GIF- they may win 9 or 10 now. I didn't think we would suck like many thought, but I didn't have us making the playoffs either, we may even make the playoffs now. What a fun season so far. I will always remember Mike Chappell predicting 3 wins and Greg Doyle saying we didn't have a team that could compete looking at our roster before the season. They report on the Colts for a living here in Indy. They didn't do their homework apparently haha .

I have Cardinals with worst record in league, just think with no qb set (Rookie Clayton Tune maybe starts) and lacking multiple top notch players an uphill battle. Throw in a rookie coach (Who was the weaker coordinator of the super bowl runner up) and it could be ugly,

Still have a chance if Panthers without Frank win a game or two but cant see Pats winning again with a lame duck coach and no QB so they may pass cards at the bottom.

Dude!! You must be going based on my $100 bet on the Ravens I mentioned during draft time, to get back $2600 if they win SB.

J/k :)

I am thinking it will be the Cowboys from the NFC though, all pressure on Dak who bets on himself before accepting a new fat contract.

Ravens vs Cowboys with the Ravens winning it all.

@2006Coltsbestever we should keep bringing this up over and over again. How do you think my prediction of a Ravens vs Cowboys SB looks now from August 2023? Anything can happen though.

@NFLfan can we pin this one and change the title to 2023 Season and SB Predictions if @2006Coltsbestever is fine with it :)??

I am fine with it. I had the Ravens winning it all as well. You may hit on both Ravens and Cowboys.

I may be close but think Panthers finish with 2 and Pats next worst at 3. Think Cards may beat Bears in an ugly affair.

This year is too funky to make any accurate predictions.  But it has been very entertaining!!

How about this Bizarre Love Triangle with the Colts,  Steelers and Bengals?!  In 3 consecutive weeks…

Bengals destroy Colts

Colts destroy Steelers

Steelers destroy Bengals

Pretty basic but here are my pics (some hot takes incoming)

AFC                      NFC

1: Ravens              1:9ers

2:Dolphins            2: Eagles

3:Chiefs                3: Lions

4: Colts                 4: Bucs

5: Browns             5: Cowboys

6: Bengals            6: Seahawks

7: Jags                  7: Green Bay                                 PLAYOFF GAMES

Phins < Jags            Eagles > Green Bay

Chiefs < Bengals     Lions > Seahawks

Colts > Browns        Bucs < Cowboys

                    Divisional

Ravens > Jags         49ers > Cowboys

Colts > Bengals       Lions > Eagles

                   Championship

Ravens > Colts        Lions > 49ers

                    Super Bowl

                  Lions > Ravens

I think out of all the teams lions deserve to win the most. Go Colts!

Major flops in the AFC this season. Those predicted to roll into the playoffs are all but dead. Disappointing all around and the lesson here is don't tear up you horse race tickets until the results are official.

Have there been upsets?   Sure.   But the final is Baltimore the top seed and KC who I think is the 3 seed.   What's the problem here?

This is football, not horse racing. Lmao big difference. Like the old saying goes any giving Sunday. It's been that way all year, the team that wanted it the most won. Football isn't the Kentucky Derby a few minutes and done. Haha

Baltimore played dumb -penalties and post play shoving begging for a flag, played poorly Jackson's overthrows and then there was Zak Flowers the player sitting in the corner with a cone on his head and all in front of their hometown fans. Nice job boys,

My prediction: the pre game festivities will include as much news, or more,  about Taylor Swift than the game or players (other than Travis Kelce.)

Wonder if it's already fixed for the Chiefs to win. (half kidding.)

    • How bout this? Draft better and u build a play off caliber team. Ain't rocket science.
    • Look im not gonna say Ballard haven't had his own issues, but the guy has been put in an impossible position particularly every year.   2017 - He has a lame duck for a head coach when we all knew was gonna get fired and was drafting for his scheme so I'll give him a pass.   2018 - Arguably his best draft getting two All-pros and a stalwart at RT. He gets to sign his choice of a head coach and is left at the alter at the 11th hour which in hindsight was a blessing in disguise. Drafted Tyquan Lewis, Hines, and Franklin who all have or had great years here. Andrew Luck was back and playing like an MVP.   2019 - Horrible draft. No excuses. It was his worst draft as a GM, but he did find a gem in Speed. Luck retiring a week before the season starts would put any GM in a tough spot so once again I'll give him a pass.   2020 - His second best draft getting Pittman, Taylor, and Blackmon. Signed Rivers and traded for Buckner and won 11 games. Unfortunately lost to the Bills in the playoffs.   2021 - I honestly can't tell for certain what happened in terms of QB. Ive heard Rivers was supposed to re-sign, but choice to retire. I've heard he was pushed to retirement as the colts wanted to go in a different direction. I heard Reich pushed hard for Wentz saying he can fix him against the wishes of Ballard. Whatever it was, Wentz was the guy and the QB carousal was supposedly stopped at least we thought. A god-like season for Taylor was not enough to save Wentz from ultimately being traded and you can chalk that one on whomever Reich or Ballard depending on what story you want to believe. In terms of the draft, Paye and Dayo have been reliable players on the dline, Granson you can make an argument is our best TE, and Fries came into his own last year.   2022 - Just an overall disaster of a season. Went the bandage route again at QB trading for Matt Ryan and you can say the colts did him no favors in terms of oline protection and JT getting hurt, but that was a failed trade for a miserable season. 2022 draft is still under elevation, but Pierce and Woods did show potential as rookies and Raimann looks to be the LT of the future.   2023 - Ballard finally gets to draft a QB to tether him to and Richardson plays a grand total of 12 quarters. It just seems like Ballard can not catch a break when it comes to QBs, but from I've seen from Richardson, I have very high expectations.
    • Hi Colts fans,   Yeah, I know, I know.  I was just as surprised as you were.  No clue why my good friend Jim Irsay would call me up and offer me the head coaching job.  I had to remind him.  Dude, I said, you do know that I've never coached at all at the NFL level.  Not coordinator.  Not even position coach.  Nothing.  It didn't seem to matter.  It was as if all that was required was for me to be good friends with the owner, and -- bazinga! -- I could be a head coach.   It was awkward, you know.  That first coaches meeting.  There was Gus Bradley.  And there was John Fox.  Both of them had been head coaches.  Heck, both of them had coached in a Super Bowl!  Yet here I was, promoted to be their boss, having never coached before.  Ever.   But, you know, Bud Grant did it.  So, why not?  Remember, I have a way of doing things.   Ok, sorry, I couldn't help but giggle.  I have a way of doing... what, exactly?  Things?  Things like coaching?  I have a way of coaching?  And how did I develop that way?  By actually, you know, coaching?   Anyway, I'm glad you have a new head coach.  One who has actually coached before.  And his experience doing that is bearing fruit.  I'm just glad I'm already in the Ring of Honor.  Because after what happened, I doubt that I would ever be accepted in by the fans, regardless of how I was as a player.  Heck, they would have put Andrew Luck in before they would even consider me.   In the meantime, I'm back at ESPN, attempting to "un-burn" bridges.  It can happen.  I heard Bud Grant did that once....   Regards, Jeff Saturday
    • We certainly have options as both DB draftees started at FS as well as CB in college. Perhaps Thomas ‘could’ revert back to CB as well?
    • Here's to hoping Colts hit the jackpot and everyone looks back saying wow he was definitely the best wr in that draft...
