Looks like Odell was drunk or high on an airplane

Odell Beckham Jr. was removed from a flight at Miami International Airport on Sunday after police said the free agent wide receiver was "in and out of consciousness" and refused to leave the airplane when asked.  He also refused to put his seat belt on.

"The flight crew was concerned for a passenger [Mr. Odell Beckham], as they tried to wake him to fasten his seat belt, he appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness, prior to their departure," the police statement said. "Fearing that Mr. Beckham was seriously ill, and that his condition would worsen through the expected 5 hour flight, the attendants called for police and fire rescue. Upon the officers arrival, the flight crew asked Mr. Beckham several times to exit the aircraft, which he refused."

He kissed his own chances of being signed by anyone goodbye, IMO IF the team doesn’t want a diva.

Any team that signs him will be getting a diva.

Na....he will sign a huge contract ,most likely with the Cowboys. If you're a star in the NFL they will welcome you with open arms even if you are a murderer, rapist, abuser, drug addict etc.  etc....

It's my understanding that he had been on a delayed flight - and - was sleeping on the new plane.

He hadn't fastened his seat belt - and - the staff indicated that they thought he may be having a medical issue as they could not wake him up.

They contacted police and an ambulance - returning to the airport gate - for emergency responders.

Once all this occurred - OBJ became fully awake and indicated that he would fasten his seat belt.  The staff told him it was too late and he needed to exit the plane.

This flight was delayed as a result - BUT - there was NO bad behavior by OBJ that led to him being asked to leave.

From what I read about the incident - the staff overreacted.

Yep...never blame the offender.

Whoa!

Court of law standard that doesn’t apply to the court of public opinion.  Not saying anything one way or another about OBJ but innocent until proven guilty and free speech are two of the miss used standards out there.

This all makes sense now, anyway staff needed to do, just in case the person would've an emergency. I guess that's the protocol when someone doesn't respond.

OBJ could've laughed it off after being escorted out but he behaved a bit annoyed, he takes it as an interesting incident and the whole thing would've been funny.

I've never been asleep so hard that when airplane staff was trying to wake me up, I didn't come to.   Also refusing to put on the seat belt wouldn't happen because I was tired.  Airplane staff do not call an ambulance willy nilly.   The guy was wasted.

Again, I wasn’t saying he was innocent.  I just wasn’t passing judgement on him in my post because that wasn’t the point I was making.

Would this have been a story if he was not a famous athlete? It does not seem newsworthy but I guess many find it interesting. I guess I might if he played for my team; otherwise, Over It Whatever GIF

If it was me, I'd probably be on the national news and charged with domestic terrorism.

OBJ gets a free pass.

Stupid enough not to put on his seatbelt before he covered up and went to sleep.

 Haha!

I put more behind the statements of several airline staff than I do 1 WR diva.  His word against theirs and I'll believe theirs.

But how is this newsworthy? Serious question. If we had a separate thread for everything players or people is do, there would never be room to discuss sports. A few days ago I read about a player being arrested for child pornography. That is a lot more serious but I surely won't be posting who it is or what happened, as it is not relevant here.
