If we choose to go Edge Rusher in 1st over Barkley, Arden Key is the TERROR we need..

A couple points:

1. Key is a big time athlete, but he only wins with his speed most of the time. He isn't refined as a pass rusher and doesn't play the run as well as he should. He has good bend around the edge, but that's not going to cut it against good OT in the league any better than raw strength. His ability to transfer speed to power is still a little iffy.

2. We are going to a 4-3 most likely, and I don't see a natural fit there. Sure we had mathis and freeney (which were somewhat undersized), however, they were better than Key coming out (maybe not the athlete, but had better technique).

3. Key has major character concerns on and off the field. He tends to get a little lazy for a guy with his kind of athleticism and his off the field character is well documented.

4. Chubb has elite agility for a guy his size. He can bend the end pretty well and then he uses that to his advantage to change that speed to power. Is he an elite athlete? Doesn't play like one, but he can move. He looks like a mix between Derrick Barnett and Joey Bosa to me. I'll take that all day over Key.

I  agree with most of this, although I think Key would fit fine in a 4-3.  LSU is usually a 4-3 front I do believe.

He is a bit light IMO, but not too light honestly. The stuff I've seen he looks to be standing off the edge, but I agree, they are running a modified 4-3 most of the time. My only concern is how he holds up against the run in a 4-3. The kid has all the talent in the world from an athletic standpoint, he is a legit boom or bust prospect.

Think Taco Charlton.    Also don't think Key would have problems gaining weight if needed.

This is a bad take and you should feel bad.

Not really, he is more talented than Chubb..I wasn't aware his character concerns were as serious as it looks like they are..If we trade back and get Chubb fine..If we stay at 3 only guy worthy is Barkley...I don't see a superstar in Chubb..I see a good solid player 8-10 sack guy solid against run..He isn't gonna light the NFL on fire...

His character is just one thing. This guy gets bodied by TEs. College TEs. He is weak at the point of attack. Bad technique. Gained weight this season because he is weak, and lost his great burst(the only good thing he possessed lol)

You calling Chubb slow is a bad take also.

Does Saquon have any flaws to you?

Every player has flaws...You can find bad tape on Chubb or any player for that matter as well..Plenty of times he was shut down..Notre Dame pretty much shut him down..

I'm not saying Chubb isn't good, just not Top 3 good..Top 3. Pass rushers usually are elite athletes. .Bosa is the exception,  not the rule...

Bosa is the exception? Lolol they’re so similar though?

So what are saquons flaws?

Mcglinchey did not shut Chubb down.  If they did it was a group effort.

Chubb is actually fast for his size.  He gets it done and that's all that matters.

Nice to see common sense once in a while.

Barnett is basically the same style as Chubb to me and I believe he led all the rookies in sacks last year.

I agree i think Chubb is a little bit better in containment and stopping the run. I think he could be a heck of an DE/Edge guy for us. Has a great motor, great hands and very quick off the line. Put him on the turf in Indy and he will be a handful to deal with off the Edge. It took some talent to unseat Mario Williams sack record.

I think he's got Reggie White type strength as well.  He just tosses guys around at times

He's very very strong at the point of attack. If his rush moves get better he will be a handful at the pro level. I hope he shows out at the combine so folks can see he can do it all. I think his bend and hip movement is under-rated also he can play in space and he's so good against the run when you get into sub packages he can stay in no problem. I have no idea why folks feel like Key is better than him.
