Which waived guys should Grigson consider?

This was part of a long back and forth with Krunk. I didn't really see us making such a sweeping change at CB. I think we need Cromartie this year. If I could get Rowe for a 6th then sign Desir, Thorpe, Burley. All were cut and FA's.  I would keep Davis and Robinson and let the Cro go. 

 

That being said I thought Cro was someone we should have looked at prior to the Davis injury. I thought he was hurt last year and was a good candidate to bounce back. I figured he'd think the same and go for a 1 yr deal. He fell off there wasn't much of a decline more of an abrupt fall. I expect to get a good season from him. We both know there is no future with Cro

 

I really wanted to get Burley back too. I never like that trade. It was a matter of time before Purfory got into trouble. He had a track record a mile long.  I would still like to see a young pass rusher brought in Ochi Cowser and Rush are all waiting to be plucked off of PS. I'd be happy to resign Okine I liked what I saw from him love his size at OLB. Coverage would be a concern.

 

We talk about getting younger and developing guys. Look at the weakest spot on the roster edge rusher. We have Mathis and Cole there and keep 3 QB's. What are we doing with 3 QB's? Somebody man up pick one and grab a young pass rusher to sit behind Mathis. It might not take much to move past Cole. I just named 4 we could bring in right now all it would cost is a QB3.

I see what your saying. But I think we need to see Robinson outside. I hope I'm wrong but I see this as a bad bad move to put him there.  Slot sure

I like listening to Venturi and he though the same.  Maybe where I got the idea I suppose   He also said that Robinson won't dare much better than Toler   I hope we're both wrong  but I'm not counting on anything better than last yr

I really thought we'd take a CB too. I wanted Robinson LSU he's a top 40 pick without the trouble. I thought we'd go CB early if not with the extra 4th for sure. Didn't happen there were guys there. 

 

Robinson should be fine in the slot. Cro should make that happen. I liked the additions at cuts. Neiko can play Morris looks good. I was hoping we'd add 3 Butler is done. Burley or Desir is who I was looking at. Roberts from NE if he gets bought out. I would give Philly a 6th for Rowe. It looked like SF was going to cut Dontae Johnson instead they kept 7. I'd call Chip see if he'd take a 6th for him or Resser.

 

I wish we'd get some youth behind Mathis and Cole. Ochi Rush etc instead of 3 QB's what's that about.

Well, it's "older" for a lineman.  I just think it's funny people complain about certain signings and then when teams release guys, clamor for Grigson-esque type of free agents.

Sitton isn't a Grigson-esque signing though.  He is far better/more proven than any lineman Grigson has brought in.....and still playing at a high level.  That's all i meant.

Yeah, I don't disagree with that, I think (that Sitton is more proven than any other lineman). I had to chuckle a little bit though because your comment basically reads, "It's not a Grigson-esque signing because he's actually a good player."  LOL.  

 

On a serious note, wasn't Herremans (though he was like 32 when we signed him) considered at least decent?  Maybe not as good as Sitton, but certainly not nearly as bad as he was after we signed him.

Well, read it how you may lol.  

 

I would compare signing Sitton to Langford.....been a good player for quite a while and just makes sense.

 

Herremans was pretty bad the prior two years....and that came from him.
