Does Grigson not see defense as a need?

Motto around here went from "Hoist It" to "If your defense can't stop them, try to have your offense outscore them"

Grigson is literally a failure when it comes to the draft I know my opinion and Dustin's was very frowned apon around here but who cares it's true the dude has wasted 3 first rounders

And with the 61st pick, the Colts pick is a WR! I think we will all be eating Colts Horeshoes then. We ddid draft 2 TE's back to back.

I dont see another WR.. lol i do see us picking a qb.. that would be another grigs like move

So the Colts should build their entire draft mindset around the Patriots? I'd understand the extreme hatred for not selecting a run stopper if the Colts were ran on week after week. But it was 1 team. And there's 8 more picks. Everyone freaking out needs to cool their jets.

I wanted Malcom Brown really bad but I'm not going to throw a hissy fit.

To be the best, you've gotta beat the best.  The only team standing in our way in the AFC right now, in my opinion, is the Patriots.  Don't draft and acquire talent just to beat them, but I think it's foolish to ignore 200+ rush yards given up per game to the same team over and over.  We got a very talented player that doesn't fill a need when we could have acquired a very talented football player that also fills a need.

Grigson- "With the BPA mentality I think it is the healthiest mentality to have. Um, especially when I feel for the most part the roster looks pretty balanced. We have some areas of concern, but there is always those no matter what stage of the game you are in." To look at the actual interview it is the very first question he answers in the pre-draft interview.

Ah, I see.  Thanks for posting this!

I think they get one number as an overall grade.

But I think we use a color code for certain traits.   Especially for the very positive, and the very negative.

You want to be reminded when you're under pressure and the bullets are flying in the war room and things are crazy.

I don't think it's uncommon.

It could be.  I've never been in any war room, so I can't say how things are run.  His wording just seemed a little weird to me.

I think we are all underestimating the Steelers. They actually had a better offense than the Colts arguably a better defense. I see them making a strong push in the AFC.

Colts defense was 11th in total defense, 12th in passing and 18th in rushing for regular season. Take away that 200yd game from the Grey and we probably crack top 15. 2 out if these 3 we are ranked higher than the Texans in, who play in the same division. Our Defense is NOT horrible but it's definitely not great either. I wonder how much our offense being able to sustain drives and give our D time to rest might help just in itself.

Lol everyone complains as if the team wasn't being thrashed by the patriots before grigs got here just relax and see how the draft goes defence or not they're better because of coaching scheme we never adapt or change hasn't been any different besides one season in which we won the super bowl we have the talent to compete the coaching eh no

I suppose you could be right...   but I thought Grigson made a reference to the coding system in his pre-draft presser...

That's my recollection, at least.....

It is a color code system...Blue is an elite trait, like a sub 4.4 is a "blue trait".  We should have gone defense BTW.

    • Ignoring anything to do with accuracy, level of play, etc., just based on his injury history through 8 games, it's highly unlikely he will be our QB in a few years.  It's a catch 22 with him.  If you don't utilize his legs, it will be very difficult to win with him.  If you do utilize his legs, it will be very difficult to keep him on the field.  I've come to the conclusion that his size is not necessarily a benefit.  The collisions are harder.  He goes to the ground harder.  You don't see some of the gentle drops and rolls you see with Lamar Jackson.     The fact that he's also tied to a front office that might be counting their days doesn't help either.
    • Id say avoid drafting or taking players from your team that you’re a fan of. I’m an avid fantasy guy and also a sports bettor. I literally will avoid taking any Colts players In fantasy and also during the week in fantasy football I avoid taking the props of the players I’m playing against. I never want to wish bad on anyone so for that very reason I avoid those guys. For me personally it has helped tremendously, I can still enjoy the game without bias.
    • I will just say this about the comparisons between Luck and AR.  And even Manning.   First, as far as overall talent?  I think AR has more talent than Andrew.  And I say that as the biggest Luck fan that there is.  I loved that guy.  But he always reminded me of a Manning wannabe.  Someone who had more pure talent.  Who was very smart.  But I never ever got the feeling that he wanted to win and put in the hours that Manning did.  And I think that was proven when he retired so early.  Manning was like an AI robot who studied 23 hours a day.  Just a huge will to win.    But what Luck had was pain tolerance, drive and overall ability due to his teaching since he was a kid...and his will to do what is right for the team.    IMO that was 100% MORE than AR's is right now.  Not even close.    If only you could clone a combo between Manning and his smarts, Luck and his pain tolerance, and AR and his pure athletic ability.    I am sorry but unless AR is the unluckiest person in the history of the NFL, NO ONE gets hurt this much.  He is a wreck.  Heck I remember in his first pre season game last year he ran out of bounds and started to limp.  Literally his very first hit ever.  Right then I said to myself "uh oh".  And then he has not finished what......4 of his all time starts?  Out of 8?  I mean....that is not normal QB behavior.  He seems to get hurt on almost every hit he takes.    Make that make sense.    It is very VERY odd to say the least.   I want AR to do well because he seems like a good guy and he has all the talent in the world  But after this last game and his words after? For lack of a better word I don't think he has any ability at all to do 2 things.     One....protect himself.   Two.....take a hit and feel pain without it being the end of the world.  He seems to have no pain tolerance whatsoever.  Which is fine.  Just don't be an NFL Qb as a result.
    • I'm not creating anything.  Till AR can stay on the field it's Flacco that has to be tough.
    • I understand that but till AR shows he can stay on the field, Flacco has to be the man. It's that simple.
