Josh Robinson visits Colts.

Great story behind him.

Josh seems like a nice, well adjusted young man considering early tragedy in his life. Originally, I was opposed to selecting a RB in the draft, but if Mr. Robinson falls to us in later rounds, I'm okay with taking him because I have a soft spot for rising above adversity stories & he looks like a bruising back that drops the sledge hammer when necessary.

I want Josh to succeed & INDY would adopt him as a beloved son in no time flat.

Seems like a great kid.

CBS Sports likes him the most rating him 186th overall with a 5/6 round grade.

Scouts Inc has a low 6th round grade.

And NFL.com has a grade for him of 7th/FA.

He has a very compelling story,  but for a team like the Colts,  he can't be our target running back.     If we get someone else earlier and we still want him -- fine.

But we can't come away from the draft with Josh Robinson as our only added RB.

"Our only added back."..Those words scare me a little bit NCF...How many were you thinking? Rotation & fresh legs is normally a good thing, but I hope INDY isn't going to go on a ground game draft frenzy here. It's really not necessary or wise.

I'm not calling you out, but to me RB is not a priority this draft a NT, a safety, & an o-lineman are. JMO. I'm alright with taking the right back late, but only one that's it at that position. No more.

I think you're misreading me, SW1....

I'm not looking for more than one running back.    I'm simply saying if we take Robinson late,  then I hope we've taken someone else much, much better earlier in the draft.

OR...     put another way.....

I hope we take someone else by no later than R4,  and don't take Robinson at all.

Okay, thanks for clearing up the mystery NCF. We're on the same page now. I guess I'm getting a little tired of "depth" signings & I want to see more plug in & play draft prospects from day 1.

I'm not referring to you specifically here just that depth to me is a code word for "project in training"  & that's what concerned me about what you said that I misinterpreted.

    • Oh contrare, I’d say it says more about Shane Steichen’s skill set as a coach.
    • Excerpt from an article at NFL.com …     ”… One player the Colts can lean on while Richardson gets his sea legs: running back Jonathan Taylor. After last year's hold-in and injury issues, the star running back looks back to his old self. JT bursts through the line like a Mustang on fire, leaving linebackers in his wake. On Sunday, Taylor totaled 12 carries for 103 yards and +55 rushing yards over expected, his most RYOE in a game since Week 15 of 2021. He also forced five missed tackles across 14 touches.    Shane Steichen's decision to bench the star back during the entire fourth quarter because the Colts were in pass mode belies credibility. Even if Taylor isn't a prolific pass catcher out of the backfield, sitting your best offensive weapon for an entire quarter is folly -- hopefully one Steichen doesn't repeat. If defenses are going to sit back to slow Richardson's deep attack, Taylor should gobble up chunk gains.    At this point, Taylor is the most consistent thing going for Indy. The 25-year-old back owns a game-changing gear and can shoulder a massive load. His presence and production should help settle Richardson down during the roller-coaster dips. Taylor hasn't looked fully healthy in a couple of years. He did this past Sunday. The Colts need to ride that stallion.”     The above referenced article kind of echoes my feelings on the matter.
    • Exactly I am confused with that comment by Shane unless that one drop deserved him to be benched. Again coaches know what's the best.
    • I'm not sure why the team thinks JT can't be effective in the passing game.
    • I know that you use the word only once, and I'm sure that you know what it means. But find one example of me contradicting myself please?
