Wow...hard crowd. He was trying to say something positive people. The intent of the post is dead on.....we pick at  #29 because we are that good of a team....and gems can be found throughout the draft. Top 5 pay off more often than later, but after about 20 picks....it is an absolute crap shoot beyond anything other than stats.

Factors that can make or break a player include:

scheme

home life

influences

coaching

maturity

and more

many of those above factors change as soon as they go pro.

whoever thinks that isnt a good list just doesn't have a good football memory ..marcus allen :hof..steve wisniewski was annually considered one of the top guards during his playing days..nate odoms until he shredded his knee was one of the best corners in football ..both mangold and ben grubbs have been to multiple pro bowls..as far as nicks goes 90% of this forum was stoked when we signed him lastr year so before last two years plenty of people thought he was a good player..as far as patterson and smith go unlike most people i don't think it is fair tio really label any player a bust until at least 5 years in to thier career ..just my two cents anyway

The list isn't impressive if you consider those are the best players drafted at 29 in the last 45 years

Marcus Allen was the 10th overall pick in the 1982 draft.

And that would not be Steve Wisnieski....   it was Steve Stepnoski who went to the Dallas Cowboys.

I'm not sure where you learned otherwise.

Me thinks you need to go back and do some fact finding. There is a couple of players on your list that is not correct.

Sorry, didn't mean to step on your foot. I noticed the same thing as you before I seen your comment.

You're right about Marcus Allen but I think he's right about Steve Wisniewski....the NFL record shows him to the Cowpies at #29 overall in the 1989 draft.

You're right.....   turns out the joke is on me,  Mark Stepnoski was drafted one round later,  with the first pick in the 3rd round by the Cowboys.

When I saw Wisnewski, I figured the poster got him confused with the current Steve Wisnewski, the current free agent center from the Oakland Raiders....

Go figure.....

Thanks....

    • The NFL announced the date and time for every preseason game for the upcoming season. And the Indianapolis Colts picked up a primetime game.  The Colts will travel to take on the Cincinnati Bengals at 8 pm EST on Amazon Prime.
    • I'm not sure if you heard,   season tickets are sold out for this season.   There are far more positive fans than those calling draft picks spoiled brats over normal contract language.   My credibility here isn't something I spend anytime thinking about.   If calling people out on their nonsense is "bullying" in your opinion,   maybe the internet isn't for you.
    • Irsay doesn't care about your opinion either. White knighting for the Colts and bullying posters who are negative because they are frustrated with the team since 2014 isn't a good look for you. People don't cry because the team doesn't do what they think they should do, they cry because coaches and GMs that are professionals in their field are either unqualified to do their job (Grigson), or refuse to learn from their mistakes (Pagano, Reich, and Ballard until recently).    This forum just wants to win at this point. Ballard has never won the division. We want to win in the playoffs. Ballard has won 1 playoff game. We want to win games. Ballard is 54-60-1. You know all this, and you deflect it all the time. All you can say is Ballard knows more than people on the forum, as if that makes him a top GM in the NFL.    I don't care if Ballard does things the way I think as long as we are winning. The problem is the way Ballard is doing things, we are not winning. So it adds more ammo that his way isn't working. You compare that to a team like the 49ers, where John Lynch took over the same year as Ballard, and they are winning, and that's not even the fans thinking they know more, that's an actual GM knowing more as an example.    The last point I'm going to make is injuries. We have gotten very unlucky with injuries. That's part of the reason (myself included) a lot of people are negative on this forum. Injuries to top players all over the place have hurt this team. You can pretend like this is a new year and it shouldn't matter and that's in the past, but we're affected by what's happened in prior years, and injuries happen every year. We're already getting injury scares this year with Pittman and Richardson and Daniel Scott is done again.    The bottom line is this forum is going to be negative to an extent until we win. You can pretend everything is great and take out your frustrations on people who don't think the way you do, but you've been wrong since 2015 thinking the way you do, and Ballard's whole tenure. You have no credibility with your position right now. Your only defense is that you think "some of you would rather be right and see the team fail."  We want to win, We just aren't buying it until we see it now. Maybe AR gets the job done, but until he does, it's just more hope.
    • LOL. says the guy that is negative about every aspect of the Colts since your apparent best friend Grigson got fired.      My agenda is and will always be to hope the Colts do well.   Not poo poo everything the team does.   Contrary to the belief of a few here,   Irsay doesn't care about your opinions.   He is going to do what he thinks is the best for the team.    I'll never understand those that cry when the team doesn't do what they think they should do.     Some of you would rather be right, and see the team fail.   I'll never be that fan.   But hey,   you do you
    • At least you finally acknowledged he was "elite".   He was very good pass blocking last year.   I don't know how PFF grades pass blocking or run blocking,   but he has been great from jump street.  I haven't heard any news about a lingering injury this off-season.   Let's see how the year plays out
