Last year's divisional game against New England shows how we've regressed

It was raining cats 'n' dogs. That took us from one dimensional to no-dimensional......so to speak. Do NOT discount the profundity of how the weather kicked our butts. We looked like a dome passing team playing a tough, outdoor ground team in the driving rain....because that's exactly what went down.

That and the Patriots are just flippin' awesome this year.

we were down one score to the Patriots this year in the regular season. One game doesn't justify a regressed season. We definitely got better this year and beat all the teams we were suppose to instead of losing to teams like the Chargers, Dolphins, and Rams like last year We didn't put up points in this game because no receivers got separation when they shut down TY.. Brazill did that last year.

We did have some better personnel this year, but don't forget we knocked off the top 3 of four remaining teams last year. We lost to the Chargers bc we couldn't stop the run at all, but Arizona, STL, and Cinci were all right after Reggie got injured and all of a sudden we were lost. This year we beat who we were supposed to beat but couldn't beat a single top tier team.

Yes Manning was not game ready but you seem to over look what the Colts offense did to all those great players the Broncos signed to their defense. Manning's injury had zero to do with Luck not being touched in the backfield.

all player's denver sign were on their last legs. player's only maybe 1 to 3 years left in their tank.

that's a sign the Colts made progress to being a very good team...........but not yet elite.

That's the next step.

Refresh my memory, but it was nothing like this year, right? The more the game wore on, the harder it rained. It was just terrible on us. We can't play those kinds of games until we can learn to run effectively.

The one thing that kind of tees me off is you can say there was no run game, but honestly there was never really an attempt to establish a ground game in the first place.  Very petty attempts which actually produced good yardage, but we went away from it

trying to keep up with Brady and whatever other factors.

That may be so but the fact of the matter is the Colts beat a team that features Von Miller, Demarcus Ware, Chris Harris, Aqib Talib, TJ Ward and Terrance Knighton on defense which is far, far, far more talent then the Colt's defense possesses.

Oh I thought Manning was the only QB that couldn't play in the elements.  :sarcasm:

Thank you. You just relayed my thoughts.

lmao  , old timers on their last legs lucky last 1 too 3 years max.  fox fault for taking old timers on a quick fix.

Fox didn't make those choices in the first place. Elway was responsible and then blamed all the fault on Fox IMO. Elway failed to take in the chemistry aspects of things.

In that game we had the ball, down 7 in the 4th quarter with a chance to tie the game, this year we never even had a chance.

Looking at progress by comparing a playoff game from last season to this season, even if it is the same franchise, doesn't mean it's the same team!  Patriots revamped their defense, and were better on offense.  It's just a bad way to look at it!

Regressed?  I would say equally inconsistent!  They swept the division again and won 1 more playoff game, with the same regular season record.  How did they regress?  The fact they didn't beat a top tier team this season?  They weren't suppose to do that last season, so that's a bad measuring stick.  Now I would say if they were 10-6 with a division loss and only beating the Bengals in the playoffs would be regression.  You forget the team was 2-14 just a few years ago.  The first two seasons at 11-5 were unexpected and overachiving.
