MEDIA HYPE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

Well think they got 2 teams right. Alabama maybe belonged , but TCU snubbed ,and if the so called experts had it their way we probably see 2 to 3 SEC teams in it. IMO there needs to be an 8 team playoff to make sure its got right. Cudos to Oregon & Ohio State  exactly how I thought it would turn out of the 4.

I'm just happy some of the shine has been taken off the Somewhat-Educated Conference. :P

This is a good start to a well-earned National Championship for whoever wins. I agree that an 8-team tournament (maybe 5 super-conference winners + 3 at-large bids?) would remove any lingering gripes.

You can tell they wanted Florida State out most of the season just by their rankings, hoping they would lose to knock them out of the top four.  But they were the only undefeated team in a major conference, so they had to go.

As far as an 8-team playoff stopping any lingering arguments, no way, people will still argue that other teams should get in.  People would argue certain conferences are being preferred and so on.  But I would still like to see an 8-team playoff some day.  For now, I am not complaining about the current set up.  Heck, it got us a completely different championship than it would have been, probably Alabama vs FSU.

True , I knew FSU was going down and was fairly confident Alabama would all though they did belong. IMO TCU belonged as well.

If we had the BCS this year....it would have been FSU-Bama. And probably a boat race in Bamas favor. I like this format better, though expansion to 8 wouldn't hurt, IMO. Use the top 4 bowls (Rose, Sugar, Cotton/Fiesta, Orange) and go from there.

    • I’m not worried about Richardson in the slightest bit. He’s 1 of about 4 guys on our team with value.
    • He’s been bullish on that for awhile. Remember for awhile we just had Pittman, Campbell, and Pascal at WR because he thought we were fine. Took him until 2022 to draft Pierce and then 2023-2024 he drafted Downs and Mitchell.   Hes been not upgrading the secondary for awhile now too. Traded Gilmore last offseason and let Rodney McCloud walk. He was going to roll into 2023 with the secondary being some combination of Dallis Flowers, Isaiah Rogers, Darrell Baker, JuJu Brents, Rodney Thomas, Jaylon Jones, Nick Cross, Tony Brown, and Blackmon.   The season ended and the excuse was that that the secondary was bad because two of their young unproven corners were not available for the season (Rogers suspended and cut and Flowers IR after week 1).   Then this season he ran it back and pretty much just gave the starting corner spots to Brents and Jones. He brought in no veteran competition. It’s like once they lost the battle for Snead, that was it for trying to upgrade the secondary.
    • Last year, Richardson was replaced by a backup quarterback, and we won a lot of games.
    • Yeah, I think Cowherd was probably stating a demonstrable fact about QBs not improving their accuracy much, rather than stating his opinion.  So its the message more than the messenger for me on this.
    • Hard to say at this point. But there will be a handful of QBs in R1 (Ward, Moss, Beck, Nussmeier). I can't see them only winning 2-3 games to have that pick, but if they did, there will be a new GM. If he believes in AR, then he will try to fix him for a year and parlay that pick into multiple picks to rebuild essentially the whole defense.
