Pitt vs. Baltimore

Perfect timing for Baltimore to be on the national stage. lol.

Still, I love this game and this rivalry. Thoughts on the game? Will the Ravens be off their game from the Rice saga or will it fuel them? Will Pitt get up early and have another second half collapse? Will Flacco play better? Will Tomlin trip a Ravens player?

Lots of good story lines.

All the story lines seem to be beyond the field. There was a time when this division rivalry was dominated by hitting from Polamalu, Harrison, Woodley, Larry Foote etc. on the Steelers side and the Ravens' front 7 (you name it). Now, the defensive rivalry is an after thought, IMO.

Flacco is going to show why he is the most overpaid player in the NFL

Pierce will benched again

Tomlin keeps his butt on the sidelines

Steelers dominate

Ravens show how much they have fallen since there SB run and the comparisons between Flacco and Eli become the talk of the NFL .

Rice get's mentioned 50 plus times by announcers sideline reporters ect .

Flacco proved that last year

Could be a terrible week in Baltimore...lose two games and the Ray Rice situation....easy for bad stuff to snowball on a season....ask Houston last year. Sometimes it isn't even your a bad team like the Saints with the bounty gate...negativity just breeds more negativity...I really hope Baltimore wins to turn things around for them...not that I'm a fan of either team but just to change the narrative hopefully.

when did he get a years suspension?

Good point...Indefinetly....I assume is at least this year.

Can you imagine Goddell reinstating him THIS year? I cant

Goodell even said that Rice wasn't out for life..that he could petition to return to the league sometime in the future..

I took that to mean the offseason..

I think a one year suspension is what Ray should have received...but indefinetly means at least a year, to me

How long did others convicted of the same crime get?

Rice is suspended indefinetly and he can apply for reinstatement in a year...is the way it is officially stated

I don't know if Baltimore is hurting at running back but they did throw 62 times last week, right?

Baltimore struggled to run the ball WITH Rice. Yeah, they have no run game, and it's basically all on Flacco's arm to save the day for them. A scary proposition really.

    • It's not that their replacements are not good.   It's the depth behind the replacements.     Also. There isn't a 3T on this team better than Buckner.  To say so is nonsense
    • There comes a point where your depth isn’t that good when you lose this many players. We aren’t talking about losing one guy or two. If Paye can’t go we are talking about half of our starters and depth. Just because you replace them doesn’t mean they are any good.
    • A high ankle sprain, even if considered mild, is a different animal than the typical 'rolled' ankle sprain, and takes at least twice as long (or more) for recovery.   Though we don't know for certain yet, this is in the realm of possibility. Besides, it may be the same ankle where he's had prior history in 2022 as well as surgery in early 2023. Taking this into consideration, a multi-week absence could be an outcome for him in the short term. An improperly healed high ankle sprain has long term ramifications to consider, as well.
    • Yes, and I'm sure the Colts will field a full rotation of D lineman, with a few having to play more snaps than before,  The replacements will be as good as the linemen that won't play....Defo, Lewis, and Paye.  That's my opinion.
    • I thought Flacco did pretty dang good. It was nice seeing passes not go over our receivers heads. AR played pretty well in the short time he was in there but I still didn’t see anything that would tell us he’s fixed his accuracy on short/intermediate throws. That being said AR is the starter unless he plays his way out or gets injured again.
