Nice job OPC

When I did it, some of the mock didn't make a lot of sense, i.e. Arizona took two CBs in the first two rounds.  Patriots took 3 defensive lineman with their first 3 picks.  Stuff like that.  I liked our draft.  The Texans might have gotten the most out of this draft with 3 potentially elite players, 2 of which are arguably at the 2 most important positions in the game (QB and DE).

Obviously it depends on how quickly the prospects develop and become acclimated to the speed fo the NFL, but I think the Falcons might have made their roster superbowl worthy this year with some of the additions they made and I think the 49ers made some very nice additions that could put them over the Seahawks this year.

Yeah, when I was on the board for the Patriots 3rd round pick, I wish BlackHawk did not draft another DL for the Patriots in round 2 with you having drafted one already for the Patriots. I thought he would go for Martavis Bryant for the Patriots or Weston Richburg at center. But he went with Ego Ferguson.

That did leave me with a dilemma but Kareem Martin, a top of round 2 talent was available at the end of round 3. It was too good to pass up there.

This probably re-inforces the fact that you mentioned, that in a mock draft, one would like to be assigned teams so that they are not handcuffed by someone else's draft picks. Arizona and New England are 2 classic cases of what can go wrong. But for the most part, the mock turned out good. :)

It didn't help that we added in a 5th guy and then replaced Dustin.  Not that we shouldn't have changed anything, I very much preferred to have more people.  It's more fun that way. But it just goes to show how it could affect consistency.

But I do agree it generally turned out good.  There was a couple of picks that surpised me when they got drafted like Seantrel Henderson in the 2nd.  But just because it is a surpise to me doesnt' mean its' impossible on draft day.  I eman, Dallas took that C in the late first and look how it turned out for them.  I'm curious who the will be the surprise reaches and slips.

You could be correct.  If only depth, why not look at UDFAs?

He's good enough to start, and be a very good starting OG.  With Castanzo, Thomas, Holmes, Dozier, Cherilus, that has the potential to be a very, very good OL.  Castanzo would be the weakest link IMO if all panned out like I think it could.

Did not Grigson state last year, that he does not like to start rookie O-linemen.  I know Thornton started because of injuries to O-line starters.  I just do not see us drafting an O-lineman and starting them.

he did say that. But just because grigs doesnt like starting OL in their first year doesnt mean hes not good enough to start

Yes he did

No, he did not.  As Indyscribe said, he merely said that, given the choice between starting a rookie CB or a rookie OL, he would prefer to start the rookie CB.  He never said he did not like starting rookie OL.

I'm pretty sure he said that he would rather start a rookie CB over a rookie O-lineman.

That my bad, was remembering it incorrectly.  Thanks.

Was told that about Thornton last year, by some other people on here, and we saw how that went.  Not saying he can't start, though I do agree about O-linemen taking 3 years to show how good they are.  That is reason that I do not like drafting O-linemen before round 5, unless in the 1st and expected to be immediate starter.

Wasn't sure of exact quote.  Thank you for info.
