Clemons looks to me like someone who is just playing good in a long term contract year. JMO. Byrd is legit thought, his consistency after missing the first 8 games is pretty great. He doesn't miss many tackles which surprised me honestly.

The FA list lacks the depth we need to upgrade. IMO. Ugh!

 

Many NFL players don`t get substantial playing time till year 3, therefore their contract year is when they start to shine.
This has been going on for Decades. Smart guys do everything they can to be optimally prepared for their contract year so they can get PAID!
What is so hard to get about this?
40+ guys getting killed working for peanuts watching the QB and a very few others living large with their Million$.

Well we need a safety who is good in coverage to pair with Landry. Given that, if we go the bargain route the guy that intrigues me is Louis Delmas. He's probably not going to command a huge contract and 11th in coverage is quite good.

I really wish we'd take a look at Delmas. Probably wouldn't cost much more than 3M a year and he gave up a league low in completion percentage. Have him play deep safety and let Landry come downhill, we could somewhat mimic what Seattle does with their Cover 3. Having decent deep safety help would really help Davis and Toler as well.
