4th best rushing team

Through 3 weeks, colts are 4th in rushing. Wow!

Still early, but seems we are really committed to power run.

Don't know why people have had a hard time grasping that when the coaches say they want to be a power running team, that they are going to try to be a power running team.

I love it. Fun to watch the run game wear down good defenses in the 4th quarter like today. It'll pay down the stretch.

True, but not all teams go out and get the players they need to do so.  The Colts have done that.  The addition of the FB Havili, plus Bradshaw, and now Richardson....is proof that the Colts want to run the ball and aren't going to give up on it and just go pass happy if they have a few bad plays in the run game.

4th is really good compared to what we have been the past 5-6 years. 

 

I can't wait to see T-Rich being more involved with the offense. He and Bradshaw could effectively lead us to the playoffs, along with Luck.

I will admit that it's a very pleasant surprise, let's hope we can keep that production all season.  Just sets the offense and Luck up to do some great things in the passing game.

I think we were 5th but could be wrong.  Another thing to consider, the colts are actually the number 1 rushing team out of teams that don't run any read-option.

We were fifth until the thursday night games, then it went to fourth.  But I'm not sure.

I know Football Outsiders had us as #2 rushing attack with the #1 run blocking line

My favorite part of the run we saw yesterday?... It helped close out the win. If this was the Peyton Manning team of old, we'd have to still be throwing the ball to keep our offense out there and risk stopping the clock. Not now. Now, we can reliably pick up 1st downs and still keep the clock moving.

 

Running the ball also really took the crowd out of it. Nothing better than seeing empty 49'er seats in the 4th Q, seeing them facepalm, or throw their hands up in disbelief.

You know what the best part is?  Teams now will have to be fully prepared to deal with our run game, which will only open things up for Luck and our playmakers.
