Take a step back and look at the game

Legend of Luck

Its 1 game

More like 6-7 seasons of the same thing. For the O-line, at least. (Outside slightly better run blocking last season.)

I, for one, would like to see the problem addressed instead of pretending it's not a glaring issue. Luck is the core of this team. He, along with Wayne, are primarily why we're winning games. Luck was very fortunate to survive behind our line last year. Rather than having him run for his life and risking injury, it would be nice to see him thrive to his full potential as a pocket passer by being allowed to drop back or step up and pass without being swarmed. It also helps when your receivers have more than two seconds to get open.

The defense is different now, but still poor. Too many long, time consuming drives keeping our O off the field. Same old, same old. They'll likely have a good game every 4-5 games, get our hopes up, then revert back to this. How many times can people witness the same pattern year after year and not recognize it or expect something else?

TL/DR: I really like Luck. It shouldn't take him getting crushed/injured for people to realize our line is terrible. It needs fixing before that happens. Defense is inconsistent/stinks/keeps our O off the field.

Was at the game and nearly had a heart attack at the end.  Colts offense let off the gas after the amazing start.  Pryor played a great game extremely frustrating to watch.

Its week one I have seen a lot of great Colts teams lose week one (even when we had Manning).  Its a weird time when all the players that have not been there in training camp and preseason come together for the first time.  I think the defense will come back strong next week and learn from Pryor when facing Colin K in a couple weeks.

I think the biggest challenge was obviously Pryor running and the Colts not responding until the fourth quarter.  They have to put a man on Pryor and HIT HIM HARD even if he's handed the ball off.  At the very least the running QB will show his hand to keep from getting hit and make the read much less effective if everyone knows he doesn't have the ball.

I went to four games last year Vikings we won by 3, Dolphins we won by 3, Titans we won by 4 and Texans we won by 12.  In 2011 I saw one game the Texans we won by 3.  With yesterdays game I have been in attendance for 6 games and COMBINED they have won all 6 by 29 points.  My heart can't take it!

From what I saw yesterday its not so much what Pryor did but more of what we didn't do. Time after time our OLB were horrible at setting the edge Werner Walden and Mathis over pursued play after play. Every big play that came from the raiders made come do to us not setting the edge and if we don't get that fixed it's going to be a hard season

    • I absolutely LOVE that Mitchell picked 10 as a constant reminder that 10 WR’s were picked before him.  That is a GIGANTIC chip on his shoulder.   So far I like everything I’m reading about the kid.  There may be speed bump or hiccup some day….  But so far so good.
    • I got a Colts tattoo on my calf with the score of the Super Bowl for all the Bears fans that live in Iowa to look at as a reminder.
    • You do it based on their careers.  Using your logic you might as well say Chad Kelley is better than Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees too because Ryan and Foles are or are practically retired so yeah it’s impossible for them to be better than Kelley right now because he’s playing and they aren’t because they are older and their careers are over.     Also using your logic Sam is on a NFL roster and Kelley isn’t and it’s not because teams don’t know about this hidden gem.  They have seen him in the CFL and still don’t even want bring him in for a training camp spot.  That tells you NFL teams just don’t think he’s good enough for the NFL so even using your logic he’s not better than Sam.
    • I thought Haliburton was very aggressive tonight and he had a big scoring game. Turner's defense was another reason why we won. Nembhard's game winning 3 at the end was justice because all game long NY was making 3 after 3. Divincenzo was shooting like Larry Bird  .
