Ravens fear Ray Lewis/Lardarius Webb seriously hurt

I guess the only good news for the Ravens right now is that Suggs is supposed to be back later. I hope these injuries are not season ending for Webb and Lewis but it doesn't sound good. I especially would hate to see Lewis be out the rest of the year.

The Baltimore Ravens' defense has looked mortal all season, despite the team's 5-1 record. Things are only going to get tougher from here.

In the wake of another close win, the Ravens fear that linebacker Ray Lewis suffered a torn triceps and cornerback Lardarius Webb has a torn anterior cruciate ligament, sources close to the situation told NFL.com and NFL Network's Jeff Darlington.

The Ravens are awaiting MRIs on Monday, scheduled for both players, to find out if their fears are confirmed.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh acknowledged after Sunday's narrow 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys that Webb likely would be out for the season with a torn ACL.

Lewis sat out the final few drives of the game with what the team later confirmed to be a triceps injury. Any injury that can keep Lewis off the field in the closing moments is a concern.

The Ravens' defense gave up 200 rushing yards for the second consecutive week, the first time in franchise history that has happened. They miss linebacker Jarret Johnson badly. They miss Terrell Suggs even more. Webb is their best cornerback, and Lewis is the beating heart of the team.

Baltimore is 5-1, but the record doesn't tell the full story.

Webb is one of the best corners in the league too, so I'd hate to see him gone too.

Ahh man, this is horrible. Colts' fan of course, but I kind of like seeing the Ravens do well. They've been my AFC Champs pick the past two seasons, but this certainly doesn't help.

Regretfully, both Lewis and Webb are lost for the year. Lewis may end up retiring.

But....

It gets worse for the Ravens. Haloti Ngata tore a knee ligament. But, like Josh Chapman did at Alabama, Ngata, continued to play and is going to try and keep playing despite the injury. Ngata is a complete freak.

Three devastating injuries on top of having already lost Suggs for roughly half the season.

This NFL game is brutal. Simply brutal.

Very sad to hear about Ray Lewis. I was pulling hard for the Ravens last year against NE and felt he and the Ravens D deserved a crack at a title.

Will be interesting to see how the Ravens can overcome these injuries. The only positive I guess is Suggs will be back later.

If the Steelers can learn to win on the road this year and get it together they could also climb out of the hole too IMO and they have yet to play Baltimore.
